All the parts I need to replace and rebuild my rear brake caliper have arrived!  I got the pistons out of the caliper that arrived today and everything looks good after a cleanup. Will put in the new seals and re-install everything tomorrow. And while there is still a couple of inches of solid ice and snow on the ground from the storm this past weekend, the forecast for Saturday is 64 degrees. 2 Valkyries, a Harley and a Victory will be rolling out for Daytona at 6 AM!

My first ride down in 7 years and my first 700+ mile day in about 9 years. About the only time I feel like my 61 years is when I look in the mirror. By Saturday night, I probably won't need a mirror to remind me of my age. Looking forward to a good time anyway.

Ride safe John.   BTW, can I borrow the Vette while you're gone?  ;)

Darn Ron,wish you had said something sooner. Vette is on the rack, pulling the factory springs and installing Pfadt coil-overs all around. While it's in the air I'm installing long tube headers, hi-flow cats, x-pipe and QTP exhaust cut-outs. After all that is done I will have to have a 4 wheel alignment and a dyno- tune done before it will be drive-able. If not for that, the car would be yours to use.  :2funny:

Busy day today. Brakes on the rear are rebuilt, bled, and ready to go. While rolling around on the garage floor trying to clean places that have not had any attention in a while I discovered I had some oil seeping out around the shifter. Had to do some digging, but I found a seal I bought back in 09 when I first heard about it being a possible issue. That's a pretty tight spot to work on but with a universal joint and a few extensions I was able to get the retaining bolt out and pull the shift lever off. The old seal came out really easy. Putting the new seal in was a little more trying but I was able to tap it into place with a socket. More cleaning tomorrow, then pack the bags.

John,
I just happen to be off tomorrow and since you're in the cleaning/detailing mood already, thought I might come down and let you enjoy yourself on my Valkyrie.   Will be waiting eagerly for your response on when lunch is.  ;)

Was going to wish you a safe trip but, I can do that tomorrow.   :cooldude:

Maybe, by lunch, my road will be clear enough for you to ride down. If I had been leaving today, I would have had to trailer my bike to the main road! My garage and driveway is still surrounded by 2-3 inches of ice and packed snow. Lunch at the Bar-B-Que Shack. We might have time to hose your bike off before dark.  :cooldude:

Hey Buddy,
I've been hosed before!   :o
