Saw that tonight with a lady friend. VERY powerful movie. Not 100% with the Bible but VERY close. I would recommend this movie to everyone and especially my Christian brothers and sisters. It brought tears to our eyes a couple of times.
Today is the tommorow you worried about yesterday. If at first you don't succeed screw it-save it for nite check.  1964  1968 U S Navy. Two cruises off Nam.

Thx O2S.  I expect to go see it soon.  SO wants to see the Noah movie too.  Both look to be well done from the trailers.  I would recommend to anybody, to read Bill O'Reilly's book first, Killing Jesus.  It's not a book with an agenda or trying to proselytize, but is a well-done history book.  He only put content that was supportable by more than the Bible, as I understand it.  Downright scary, how rough and unfair life was back then.  I'm reading it a second time now.  It's been a best seller for some time and has garnered great reviews.  Available as an E-book, at Amazon and other places, you can download a copy right now.  Oh, FYI, they are also making it into a movie.  Should be interesting.

I have found that most religious movies are not true to the Bible so I don't see them.

However, there is one that became very unpopular because of Mel Gibson, since he wasn't one of the Hollywood liberals.  Many people won't watch this movie because it's too gory.  "The Passion of The Christ"

I think that Mel Gibson had it down close..  When Jesus died for us, it wasn't a simple matter of a slap on the wrist. Crucifixion is a horrible way to die.  The movie didn't really have much entertainment value and didn't play well.

I watch this movie every Easter on dvd.  It is a reminder.

MarkT-the lady and I are planning on seeing Noah and the one about the young boy that has a near death experience called-There Is a Heaven. She has the book There Is a Heaven and i'll try to read it before we see the movie. Thank you for the steer to that other book you mentioned.
Wayne-I have the Mel Gibson movie-The Passion of The Christ. The whipping scene in Son of God is gory but not as much as Passion. Wayne-I understand what you are saying but I do believe this movie is an exception. I'm 98% certain it will not disappoint you. May GOD bless all here.

When nailed to the cross in the movie, Mel held one of the Nails to signify Jesus died for his sins and salvation as well.
GOD SAVE THE UNITED STATES from the democrats is my prayer.
