Looks like Honda has it figured out and is making it possible to create a nice tourer.

For my situation, the natural progression of coming off of 12 years of Interstate ownership the F6B was the perfect choice.

But for those that prefer the standard and tourer models, I think this new Valkyrie is going to be really something now that you can see that all the accessories are going to become available to make it more street worthy.  I would be pulling the trigger on one right now if it wasn't for my F6B.

Dave, in short, I love it.

I found it much lighter feeling than the Wing and the stock seat height is actually lower than my Interstate was. On the F6B forum there are several members that have extensive write ups on how to add electronic cruise to them. I have the back rest and rear carrier and putting a trunk bag on the back for longer trips is very simple. Fuel injection, center stand, self cancelling turn signals, heated grips...a LOT has changed in the last 14 years.

Part numbers are good. Just ordered a set of 2014 Valkyrie passenger floorboards for my F6B. The parts guy at the dealer couldn't figure out how I had part numbers that he didn't have yet but he contacted Honda and they were showing available.
Might be looking at a few other things too as I am sure many of the parts are interchangeable with the Wing platform.

They look good, maybe forward opening.

The best things are the studs. That really does not follow the Motif.

But at least they may hide the ugly fender. That has been the most prevalent complaint on

bike so far.

Well I am gobsmacked. Those accessories for the new Valk look all wrong for the bike. The sissy bar, bags, and parcel rack all look like they belong on a Gen 1 Valk not the new one with the futuristic styling. And that windscreen? It looks like a refugee from a motard!

The more I see, read and hear about the new Valk, the more I am being turned off it. I was an early supporter of this bold new direction, but the more I learn about this bike, the more reasons I see to keep my Gen 1 Valk.

Honestly, I am thinking that keeping my Valk and buying a used VFR800 or something similar for more sporty riding makes a lot more sense!

I respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion of the new Valkyrie. That being said, I cannot help but note the irony of many responses. This is EXACTLY the same responses that were in the Goldwing groups when the Valkyrie was introduced, even to the point where the GWRRA didn't feel that it should be "allowed" to be part of the group because it was such an abomination.

While it may not be what I personally want at this stage of my life I still think that it's exciting that Honda took a pretty bold step at creating a Goldwing platform based hot rod. I bet a year from now when the aftermarket has had time to get some products out there as well you will find that this new Valkyrie is going to shine. To those bold enough to take the first step and purchase one of these powerful beasts, I say good for you!

Good to see the accessories starting to roll out and look forward to what the aftermarket crowd comes up with down the road. With a clean canvas that the new Valkyrie presents  I can see all kinds of potential.

For our part, we find the new Valk very appealing; and we are not far from acquiring one.  Waiting for a conclusive look at accessories, especially windscreens (not much on bags are we).  From the photos, it appears the boulevard screen is quite abbreviated and we are not sure about the taller screen.  Hope to see all of the stuff in person soon.  One thing seems certain:  the new Valk will be plenty formidable in the cruiser world.

It's hard for me to comment on something that hasn't happened yet, people here are commenting on what they can see.  I don't think the Muslims will like the new windshield either.  When the rest of the aftermarket products are revealed, I'll give my opinion.

I'm glad options are being offered for Honda's new offering.  I think it will be a bigger success than the original Valkyrie.   Honda hopes so too.  The original Valkyrie was, from a marketing standpoint, a failure.

What makes some of us believe that our approval or disapproval is what Honda marketing was aiming at?

I am not a fan of the new valk.  I am sure I would be a fan of it's performance, just not its abbreviated factory trim.

But it should be remembered this bike is sold as a pure Standard motorcycle, with some bolt-ons (and more to come). (IE, a bike with no shield, fairing, bags, trunk or tunes.... just a bike)

When looking for my valks, I did not want a Standard valk either.

Nope that is the venerable 1911 .45acp.  The pistol Marines of Carl's vintage would have fired on active duty (a few still do).  A (purely) single action auto.  And only the finger pad should be on the trigger, not like in the pic.  And they come with short and long triggers (and a variety of grips) to make sure everyone can do it right regardless of hand size.  

But why would anyone use Hollywood for an example of anything?  Except a bad example...... which it is.  

Shooing the 1911 with your finger all the way thru the guard is guaranteed to get poor results (two of mine have 2.5lb triggers)  They are made for a light press, not a yank, even with factory 4-5lb triggers.  
This a military (design) pistol, police do not carry single actions because it is less safe holding people under arms on a light trigger handgun.  And its not safe for an officer to hold someone under arms with an uncocked pistol.

Double action revolvers are quite different, except if you single action (thumb rooster) them, then you should be back on the finger pad again.   Gotta use more finger power for the much heavier double action trigger pull, and use the first joint.

Glock's bastardized safe action trigger is somewhere in between traditional single and double action (like most striker fired, hammerless autos, and can be purchased with different trigger-pull weights, and do not easily fit the old single-double action rules (and I don't have one mainly because of the trigger).  

Also the Glock is trigger cocked/fired only.  Same as a hammerless revolver, but has a lighter (and shorter) trigger pull than a double action revolver.  But if you rooster a double action revolver, then the revolver has a lighter pull than the Glock.

Staging a traditional double action revolver is using the first joint to pull the revolver into battery with hammer back and cylinder locked, but just short of tripping the sear to fire.  Then getting nearly the benefit of a hammer cocked single action pull using double action only.  Cocking with the trigger finger and not the hammer.  Most good revolvers will do so with practice (pointed in a safe direction), but some do it better than others.  And a good revolver gunsmith can make it do it very well.  You do not do this with a wide grooved target trigger, but with a narrower smooth combat trigger.

Of course being accurate with a handgun is largely a matter of good trigger control.

I realize this is preaching to the choir for many.   So shoot me.

If you look closely in the box there is a single slip of paper that gives you the two links to download the installation instructions. The only thing is that it only has links on it, it doesn't state that they are for the install instructions. I guess they assume that you will just know.

The install was quite easy for me, however one of them is having stitching coming undone, honda is replacing them. So keep an eye on yours.

Hmm, I don't agree.    I can or could afford one, it's just not what I like.    No, I'm not jealous of it's looks either.    I do envy it's performance potential and I understand it handles well but, it lacks style IMHO.    At least, it's not a style I want.     But, I think it's obvious that Mother Honda didn't build this bike with the thought that they would sell a bunch to Old Valkyrie Owners/Riders.     So, no, I'm not jealous.
