Looking though some LP's

I'm taking them to the local record store to sell tomorrow.

Anywho I have a double album titled " Hotels, Motels and Road Shows".

Reales on Capricorn Records in the UK in 1978 (the year I bought it).

Features Allmans, Marshall Tucker, Richard Betts to name a few.

AND one track from a band named "Grinderswitch". Sounds like a Latvian death metal group

Or, American Pickers TV show grandkids will find them some 60 years from now and will offer you full retail at 10 bucks each for them?

I have stacks and stacks of 45s and albums. I kept my 8 tracks to, just no player in sight.

i even have a few 4 track tapes but the 4 track player dont work no more

They will play in an 8 track player; but you will only get sound from 1 speaker.  4 tracks were mono.

nope,,,the 4 tracks had the pinch (drive) roller built into the player and popped up behind the tape when you shoved it in,,the 8 tracks have the pinch roller built in the tapes...but with lots of patients you can transfer the tape from the 4 track to the 8 track case..

Apparently I remembered incorrectly.  Dad had 4 and 8 tracks, but that was in high school and I've slept since then and not always well.  I remembered some compatibility issues with only hearing part of the sound.  Could have been dads knowledge of wiring.    Haven't seen 4 track tapes in decades and I sold my 8 track recorder 6 years ago in a garage sale.  It was a big thing in '75.

This whole thread makes me feel old(er).

I remember playing 78's on a Victrola using cactus needles as 'non scratch'  needles.

I built my first 'hi fi' 10 watt non/stereo amplifier using tv transformers and tubes.   It looked like a collection of spaghetti, light bulbs, and firecrackers but it played.  I knew tubes (English version, valves) then but never learned much about transfer resisters.

Bing Crosby, the Andrew sisters, Nat King Cole. etc.

All the victrola's I have are now for Lake Trout fishing except one, thats still a piece of furniture.
