Woops, I'm sorry.

They will fit.... very loosely.

1 1/8" is what you need, and maybe only 1" underneath on the support bars.

Unless you shim 1 1/4" clamps with something (thick rubber), they will not be tight.  Not as important for lights as hwy pegs, but they still need to be snug.

FYI, many kits (assembly of parts) sold by Kuryakyn (and their aftermarket sellers) come with 1 1/4" clamps (universal Harley), but almost none with 1 1/8" clamps.  I've had to order individual parts several times when a kit/assembly would have been cheaper.

The 1-1/4" will be quite loose even if try shimming it with rubber. As Jess said you need 1-1/8" clamps.  I have a pair of Kury 1-1/8" I can let go for $35 shipped.

Thanks for the info! Now i have to find a pair of amber spots to fit. any clues?
Woops, I'm sorry.

Amber 4" spots,  lamps (bulbs) only, JP cycles. They have housings also if you need them, aftermarket Harley looking stuff.
The most expensive things you will purchase, are those things you would not have needed if you had listened and obeyed.

funny.. I just installed these yesterday on my 97 standard
http://www.chromeglow.com/catalog.asp?prodid=754295&showprevnext=1
the 1 1/4 clamps were way too loose when installed.. I called the vender chrome glow and the rep told me I needed 1 -1 1/8" clamps..so I ordered em and paid extra and waited for them.. they were wayyyyy too tight!! what a bitch trying to put them on.. I finally took the inserts off the 1 1/8 and merged them with the inserts (sleeves) from the original clamps... was a bitch..lots of cussing involved..but  finally they are on!

Point is NEITHER one is a simple fit..but I think you're better off with the 1 1/4"

Look on the Piia sight. they have some really nice billet aluminum mounting clamps in both black annodised and chrome. In both 1 1/4 and 1 1/8.  They are really spendy, but work great on our engine guards with my Piaa (1100x I think) driving lights.  I got the lights from Amazon and the mounting brackets on ebay.  You might check one of them for the brackets.   Gary

PS I got them:  "Piaa light "L" bracket  1 1/8" bar clamp mount Yamaha Rhino"  from Twiggcycles for 34.99 Plus shipping.  I got the black ones.  Hope this is some help.

I had these many years ago, and they rusted around all the many bolt holes over time.

Bonzo

Jesse, I have the bottom ones and I am not sure whether to bolt through both holes or just one. I dont think I have a long enough bolt to get through both.

Bonzo that is a confusing question.

There are four holes for assembling each clamp, and one hole thru each ear to mount something on.

If you don't run a bolt thru both sides of the mounting ears, the clamp will not be tight (enough).  Get a longer bolt (stainless) and nut/lock washer for each clamp if you need them.  Better yet, Nylock nuts*. They have them in stores.

I was out  playing with them, I see how they go. I will have to mount them, use a set of vice grips with cooper bushings protecting the clamp and then mount the lights. Thanks
