Anybody going out this weekend?

John Schmidt

Maybe, even with 275% chance of rain if I go early enough I should miss some of it. Really jones'n for a ride, thinking about a short one up to Useless(Eutis) for breakfast/lunch. Neat little restaurant called the Mason Jar north of town, not much on decor or style, great on food. Be a little too far for you in this weather I'm guessing, might see if Pappy will behave long enough to join in though. Kind of a loose cannon without Lesa to rein him in.  ;D

billyboy

Just what I was thinking John.   :cooldude:   Hey Pappy You out there

Pappy!

...............Pappy is out there....sometimes way out there....your point?

MelbourneDan

I'm a newbie to the board and the Valk but would love to hook up. Eustis might work if we go early enough. I did a ride to E. Palatka last week and, well, you know the rain just beat my azz on the way home. Absolute white out conditions.

Dan

John Schmidt

If I go it will have to be Saturday morning and plan on a lunch there. Rain chances are thought to be around 20%, that's the main reason for Sat., but will be a bit warmer by mid-afternoon.

billyboy

Where is this place in Useless you speak of John?   ;D  And Dan would be nice to meet ya.

John Schmidt

Billy, it's actually a Umatilla address(see link). From around here we get to it by going north on #19 out of Eustis a couple miles, on the right. From Tampa it would be just over 100 miles one way, kinda like for me if I had been able to attend the last ride. You'd have to go up I-75 to SR44, east to SR19, north through Eustis.

Billy you have passed right by it when you and I rode back from that restaurant up on Lake Weir.

Knocked on Bert's cage up in his post a while ago. See if he can get down here and see us as well.

Remember, there's always the Hideaway just down the road from the Mason Jar as well for a glass of tea and some Southern Rock If anyone is interested. After lunch that is.

Bert AKA,Valkaholic

I May Be Able To Make It To The Mason Jar. I May Even Ride Over On One Of The Valks.

No Bert, not a good idea, don't even consider it at this stage. Those bones are not totally healed and are not nearly as strong as they need to be. If you come please plan on driving, you don't need a set back.  :o

That Valk better be tied down on a trailer then !!

Tropic traveler

Might be able to make this one.
Saturday plan is to go to the Ultimate Seat store at Rossemeyers early, they open at 9:00 to try out their F6B seats. If I get out of there at a decent hour I should be able to head on down to Umatilla & be there by 11:30 or so.
What time frame John? The usual, kick tires 11-11:30 then head in around noon?

I'll be on the "new" Valkyrie Tourer.  :crazy2:

'13 F6B black-the real new Valkyrie Tourer
'13 F6B red for Kim
'97 Valkyrie Tourer r&w, OLDFRT's ride now!
'98 Valkyrie Tourer burgundy & cream traded for Kim's F6B
'05 SS 750 traded for Kim's F6B
'99 Valkyrie black & silver Tourer, traded in on my F6B
'05 Triumph R3 gone but not forgotten!

John Schmidt

Time frame sounds good to me, around 11:00-11:30. I should be awake by then. Keep an eye on the weather, it's supposed to be less chance of rain but we've been getting some early morning showers. Just have to wait and see.

TJ

Boy , I understand some of you old snuggles can't stand a little warm weather or water but you
sure do make it hard for us that don't live with-in 45 to 60 mins of where you have these...
What ever happen to 12-12:30 lunch time???????   I for one won't be showing up for another one
because of this 11-11:30 crap....  You all enjoy.........

OK smiley, coming from someone that calls a BBQ in LaBelle.  ;D At the moment it's not so much the heat, although that is a consideration. I'm still not real comfy riding in the car so Saturday I'll most likely take part of a pain pill before leaving. I have one that if I only take a qtr. of it I get enough relief without feeling loopy.

TJ

Oh , its ok if I ride 2 1/2 to 4 hrs...  Not bitchin about you john ...  all of are Q's used to start at 12 or 12:30 to give everyone a chance to get there without getting up before the crack of dawn...
Not now...  As I said you'll enjoy......

Sorry you feel this way TJ   :-[  Hell I'm 3 hours out for this ride if I haul ass. If you want to show late that is fine. We just like to hang out and B.S. a little before we sit down. Maybe just
leave an hour early. Just saying   :uglystupid2:  Hope to see ya soon.

John Schmidt

TJ, we aren't going inside until noon-ish.

sixlow

I think I will join y'all Saturday, first I will meet Eddie at Ultimates and maybe a quick look in J P 's, my lovely wife may spend the day with her parents in Daytona or they may join us in Umatilla. Either way I figure to ride with the F6B if I can keep up..lol.   :o.   See ya soon

Sounds like my garage; "I know it's out there, just give me a day or two........"  ;D
And, you need to change your profile listing of bikes now.  ;)

Pappy!

Might as well throw a few of the other parts in there for me too........if you get this by the time you leave.

John Schmidt

Hey guys, it was a surprising turnout. Had eleven all together and the local one was one of the last to appear, not mentioning any names.  :2funny:  Coming late used to be my job. Took me an hour to get home, ripped off my clothes, slapped on a swimming suit and headed for the pool. Does wonders when it comes to a quick cool down. Glad I made the trip although not a very long one. The old hip isn't too happy at the moment so next stop....the ice pack and the Lazy Boy. Trying to keep from taking anything stronger than Advil or Tylenol, but I'm not a big fan of pain.

Until next time.........

Tundra

Glad you were all able to get in a dry ride :cooldude:
John, riding motorsickle give you a good reason to use that pool.  Sorry I couldn't make it today.
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

flsix

Glad there was a good turn out. :cooldude:

billyboy

Just got home around 5:30. Had a great time and a really good turn out. Good food and good service.   :cooldude:  Nice to meet the new guy Dan and to see Burt
again and Eddie's new F6B. I think he bought it for the cup holder.    ;D  On the way out I saw a
BBQ on the right going down 19. Is this some place that would be good for a meet up? It looked
kinda cool. See ya next time. Out

Pappy!

Interesting that you asked about that BBQ joint. Its called the Dam Smoker.
On the way up to the Mason Jar.....all 4 miles of the ride....I saw a sign on the right side for the place, advertising Bike Night on Friday nights!
Have eaten there before and the "Q" is pretty darned good. So.... based on that and the fact that they are MC friendly...Hell yes!
And that's only 3 miles from the house!

John Schmidt

And you'll still show up after every one else. bwahahaha   :2funny:

Sorry bud, couldn't resist. Good seeing you today, needed to have more time to chat about old Wings.

sixlow

good 12 hour day for me, nice to see everybody and look forward to next time. the Dam Smoker sounds good. Loving the new Ultimate seat set up, Liz likes the arm rest combo too.
peace out

Always great to spend some time sharing stories and kicking the tires with all of yous  :crazy2:

Not a bad day, just a little warm and a little long for me.
Left home at 9:30 and got to the Masons Jar at 11:30, Billy, Jerry and Bert were there already.
Everyone else got there soon after, except for one but we will not point any fingers, right John  :2funny:
Got some chow and had a few good laughs with some of the guys stories.
Went out to the parking lot and kept on kicking the tires.
Made it home at 3:30 and decided to mowed the lawn since I was already hot  :uglystupid2:
Finished mowing and left for work and just got back home....................  I tend to do some crazy stuff like that sometimes  :crazy2:

Could not go to bed before posting some quicky pics just to prove that we were there

Here is Bert next to his huge truck, it was great seing you Bert and I am glad you are progressing in your recovery  :cooldude:

I caught Eddie and his new ride as he was trying to get out of the pic, I was faster Eddie   ;D
Bert on the background, changing shoes before his ride back home

I have said it before, Valk riders really know how to ride  :cooldude:
BUT
we will get a big "F" for parking  :2funny:

Good to see everyone and hope we can do it again soon.

Missed a bunch of the gang, Doug, Jeff Parker, James, Jamie, Jerry and Sherrie and everyone else.

Time to hit the sack

I'm out  :cooldude:

Tundra

Thanks for posting Jack :cooldude:
Looks like getting under the "shade tree" had priority over parking :) It was a hot one.

Also wanted to say WELCOME to Dan

He got there as we were already inside at the table.
He walked in and said " this must be the Valkyrie group"
Guy must be good, don't know how he made us out from the rest of the restaurant   :2funny:

He got his Valk a couple of months ago with some great add ons.
He fit right in with the rest of the bunch  :cooldude:

MelbourneDan

Nice group! It was good meeting  you all, had a good time and nice ride. Thanks for the welcome. And Bert, I promise to keep my hands off your water next time.
