GPz1100

i got her last week. not new to riding, but new to the cruiser world. past rides include '83 GPz1100, '02 ZRX1200R, '08 C14 Concours. so i'm used to a different ride to say the least.

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

Misfit

If you're lucky enough to ride a Valkyrie, you're lucky enough.

Now this is getting interesting........

Congratulations, and welcome. That color always remind me of big "E". I would have to put a "3" on the side covers, if I had that color.  Great looking Valk.

Welcome! For your first cruiser, you made an excellent choice!

Congrats!  Any idea if you are second, third, etc owner?  I enjoy keeping the original owner informed of what's up with the bike.  He wanted a Road King and he has one, but he still seems to enjoy hearing about the Valk he so meticulously maintained.

Other than the Kury grips (and, a GPS?) it appears pretty well stock...
Strategy 1 - keep it that way and be proud.
Strategy 2 - enjoy the customizations ( my preference!)

Get used to your new ride...and have a ball!!   :cooldude:

i'm the third owner. and that's not a gps but controls for a hondaline cb that's no longer there. gotta take that off. i don't plan on many mods, maybe some different shocks and a cruise control unit.
do these come with factory windshields or are they after market? it had one but it's too large for me so i took it off. looking at a Memphis Shades 15" slim model.

Woton

Tourer model came with windshield and hard bags.  Assume yours is a Standard and not a Tourer stripped down.  Your windshield was probably aftermarket.

Tourer windshields look pretty large, at least to me... :-\
Not sure. I believe that the OME windshield has a "closed circle" around the headlight. ???

Based upon the locations of the reflectors that bike was indeed manufactured as a Standard.

Welcome from New England....  I've got a Memphis Shades 17" on mine with lowers.  It works well.  (I'm only 5'8" and 180# on a good day. ;D)

Nice looking ride ya got there.

Ride fast and take chances... uh, I mean... ride safe folks.

Assume you mean the rear fender reflector that would be covered by Tourer saddlebags.  I never noticed those before.  I note I do not seem to see one in the first photo, however.  Is it missing, or was there not one on that side on the Standard?

Anyway, you can take Willow's word for it, GP.   ;)

Welcome, GPz,

Based on the mounting hardware still on the bike, the windshield you took off is a Honda one.

I agree with Willow.  The Tourer didn't have the side reflectors on the back fender, they were on the bags.

You are correct and they look ugly! :tickedoff:  ;)

Congrats, welcome, and what a beaut. Looks like mine before my wreck. Loved the silver and black. They are still the top cruiser IMHO. I am really trying to get the boss ( wife ) let me have a red and black available locally while I rebuild mine. I keep telling her we can both ride dragons.
Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most.

Yours looks just like mine did in 1999, but it has gone through several changes over time.
