I'm not a big fan of Ventura, and, I don't think I would have sued if put in a similar position, but, I don't know everything about this case. I remember Kyle stating when he punched Ventura that he then turned and ran like crazy. I guess Ventura claims that never happened, but, couldn't let it go.

Yup, or, better yet, just forget the verdict now and let it go. Don't take any money or give it back to Kyle's family, whatever it takes. Maybe, Ventura will be a man and just the win and move on without compensation.





That's a good suggestion and I to would like to see him donate the money to such an organization. I believe Wounded Warriors is a good organization. I think that would go a long way to improve his image.

Was I on the jury?  No and I didn't hear all the evidence.

Useless rhetorical questions aside...11 witnesses testified that the incident did in fact happen as Kyle recounted in his book. Ventura outed himself after the book was printed. He was never mentioned by name in the text (did you even read the book?).

The source of the money to pay the judgment is irrelevant entirely. The narrow instructions given the jury by the judge in this case beg for an appeal, which will most likely happen.

The only good thing to come out of this is that Ventura has effectively made himself a pariah to his former brothers in arms from the Navy UDT and SEAL fraternities.

I didn't read Chris Kyle's book.  I did read the linked article and a few other news stories I could find on the case.   A of the stories indicated that Ventura was not named in the book but that Chris Kyle had specifically identified him as Scruff Face in subsequent public interviews.

I couldn't find the news stories that indicated 11 witnesses had confirmed the quotes took place.  My information is certainly behind yours on that issue.

The source of the money comment, Xtracho, was not directed at you but at others who stated their anger was over taking the money from Kyle's widow.

I really thought the last of my questions was most meaningful.  The jury not only found Chris Kyle guilty but they were the ones who were tasked with and decided upon the 1.8 million dollar award.  I can't see that it makes sense to be deeply angry with Ventura without also being angry with those who actually awarded the 1.8.

Once more let me emphasize that I don't particularly like Jesse Ventura nor am I overly fond of our legal system that awards large fiscal sums for no physical harm.

It's not really that big a deal to me.  I do hope the publicity results in more books sold for Chris Kyle's widow.
