Things I Learned On The VRCC

- With all the years of posts, and knowledge in them don't immediately start a new thread! Spend some time searching those posts for my answer. 90% of the time they are already there.

- You are going to make friends here.. And you are going to loose your friends from here.. 

- If I post a question looking for a specific answer, I won't get one. The great thing about the Valkyrie is that it is very customizable. The bad thing about the Valkyrie is that it is very customizable. Everyone has their own great opinions on how to customize, maintain, etc the Valkyrie.

- For the love of God don't give your 2 cents worth on another political opinion thread!

- I travel quite a bit, and it seems to me that with a little effort on the VRCC there is always a fellow Valkyrie rider wanting to meet up wherever I go. 

- Categorize your posted correctly under "General" and "Tech" or someone will do it for you. 

- (From others) I learned how to quickly discredit yourself here on the VRCC. Post something positive about an HD.

I have friends who ride Harleys, and they're good guys and gals!  And their bikes look pretty, too!

- on the Tech board, be prepared to read and answer the same questions over and over.

- there are some very hospitable members.

- there are some very tech savvy members, and they're not shy with their helpful words.

- there are some very life-wise members, and they're not shy with their helpful words.

- some people seem just as proud of their restaurant meals as their motorcycles.

- I've learned which key words in the topic heading indicate a thread not worth reading.

I ride slower in the twisties than 90% of the vrcc (and that is ok by me - I get there)

but faster on the 2,3 and 4 lane highway than many, especially in heavy
car and/or truck traffic

that the administrators really work hard for us and they earn our respect
by looking out for us collectively.

NEVER to sit on a bench if Eric from Md is anywhere close by

Its never too far to go to visit a friend.

I learned that L.D. is a great valk mechanic and so is Big BF and Gman also knows his
way around a rear end    

If I get a fork in the mail its probably from Gig or Lulu

I've figured out I piss some people off and also figured out some people piss me off. I DO NOT dwell upon it I usually go fer a ride but I like it here and have had the great pleasure of meeting a lot of folks on this board and sharing wind and/or breaking bread with them. The tech board has saved me oodles of money AND been very helpful. IT IS now currently the obuminaters fault and will soon be the hilda beasts fault.  AND B T W-15-50 Mobil one synthetic and D/S.  RIDE SAFE.

I learned that postings do not always reflect intent.  I learned some wear their feelings on their sleeve.  I learned a LOT of folks think the club is owned by its members but it is someone elses responsibility to get things done.  I learned that no free club is truly free.  I learned that motorcycles bring folks together and opinions tear them apart.   And lastly, I learned there really isn't a blinker fluid that needs to be changed regularly.

It all depends upon whether the elevator is going up or down.  Going up the odor gravitates to the floor, going down it rises to the nose.  True on not, that's what I care to believe.

I learned that there are right and wrong ways of doing things, and that previously I didn't even know enough to realize there was a question to be asked.

If the post is asking about which oil to use it's already been beat to death in at least 100 other posts.

The wealth of knowledge available from this group just by asking is fantastic. It has saved my bacon more than once.

I the first month on the board I learned all the things that can go wrong with the Valk.... and wondered if I made the right decision to even have one.....

I feared every little noise and squeak.......

The second month I found out that most of those things do not happen to 99% of them....

And I then i learned the most important thing of all......

Just ride it like ya' stole it (Think it was Daniel)........ if it breaks it can be pretty easily fixed...... And I have had a few issues....

SO... to all the new members.... Don't worry about 99% of those noises and strange happenings.....

JUST RIDE IT LIKE YA STOLE IT!!!!!!!!!

I have learned that it is far better to be IN the VRCC than on the VRCC. If you have never been to Inzane, GOTF, a local ride with other members, a weekend ride with other members, or to one of the old gatherings like the CBR, DOTS or any of the other past rides. You are missing out on 95% of what makes this club great. I truly enjoy keeping up with old friends on the board, but that pales in comparison to hanging out face to face. That is where the rubber meets the road and where you truly get to know the other members. Any excuse will do to skip or avoid a gathering. I feel guilty everytime I miss a ride or event. It is though I have let my friends down by not attending. There are not many pleasures in this world better than hangin out with the VRCC crowd.

+2 - My first VRCC event was eye opening. I didn't know what to expect attending my first ever "Biker Event". I was pleasantly surprised. I met fast friends. I saw people helping others. I ate like I'd never ate before. My daughter got ministered to.. by an actual minister. I got tech advice. I have bragged on what a great group of people ever since. I am already scheduling, planning on going to Inzane next year.

Forgot one thing.

- When you do start going to VRCC events you first get to know everyone by their Handle, then you learn their name. Then when speaking too, and or about them use either freely.
