Just thought I'd start a fresh thread.

His football team won 20-0 yesterday, and 33-0 today. On one play today, Ben drove his assigned kid to block, about 20 yards into the endzone. The recipient of this abuse then chose a cheap shot to escape... and promptly got flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.  2funny

They play more next weekend, closer to home this time as the elimination rounds of the "Central Indiana Border Wars" continues.

Looking forward to another weekend filled with pee-wee football.  cooldude

My kids played Pee wee football and we all had a blast.  That was pre-Valkyrie, wouldn't have time for it now.

Congrats,  Looks like a fine you man. Enjoy em while you can. My kids were 7 & 9 yesterday, today they are 3&5 ...years out of college. We still do a lot of stuff together, ... deer hunting is in two weeks we'll see em then.

Norseman, my son goes to deer camp with me already, although he's not ready for a gun yet. He does come sit with us sometimes, and participates in the drives that we do. He also shoots a bow pretty well, and is dying to be able to bow hunt.  :cooldude: He and spend a ton of time together.

Jabba,

I haven't been on the board in awhile and it's a pleasure to click on your post first.  This brings awesome memories back to my childhood.  My dad never missed a practice nor a game.  He wasn't one of "those" parents that tried to coach from the bleachers.  During practice and games he was on the sidelines being my encourager.  I would always look forward to the ride home.  Dad would tell me how proud he was of me and how he has seen improvement.  (sometimes I think that was just to water the seed.)

Then I would ask him what three things he saw that I could or should have done better.  We would talk about it and then I couldn't wait to get home and go out in the front yard and practice with him.  I have taken that approach with my kids.

It's actually pretty disgusting to hear some parents out on the field and worse case is to hear kid's dad screaming at them on the sideline... no he isn't the coach, either.

I'm guessing you are like me and couldn't be more proud of you youngster out there playing hard and having fun.  Nothing like being the kid on the field and sneaking a peek into the stands to see your pops proud of you.

Enjoy the time my friend!

Congrats on the wins.

Coached all 3 of my boys in peewee football.  Great bonding experience for us all.

Now enjoy watching games with them as grown men.

After he bow hunts he'll think using a gun is cheating. Both my kids started with gun at 12, My daughter likes it better then Christmas.
