Maybe I could or maybe I couldn't keep up with you, but our choice of type of rear tire wouldn't really enter into the equation.

Depends on how far we are riding.

How far is far?

And do we have to lean all the way?  :D

Actually if he considers that a deep lean that he showed then how far doesn't matter at all.   ;)

Sorry, dago, not impressively convincing.   :coolsmiley:

I don't claim to be the greatest rider out there but, that pic doesn't support your claim.
You may be a better rider than me but, your choice of tire has nothing to do with that.
If that's your best, I know several riders that could easily show you much more aggressive riding.

Don't care how fast, how good a rider, there is always someone out there than can put you to shame.

2 years ago when I was 80 years young and on 2 wheels, I think I could have buried your butt in the curves.

Sorry Buckwheat, ya never want to say how good you are, you have to PROVE how good you are.

What's the guy's name that rides the Dragon with a yellow Wing, scraping pegs all the way. Only a handful of semi-pro zip-splats can stay with him, he's just that good....and fast. I wouldn't want to try staying with him driving a sports car. You want to feel foolish, look him up. Might as well let him lead 'cuz he'll pass you shortly anyway.  ;D

I always enjoy reading the opinions in the darkside threads. It gets passionate/interesting.
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

Ha ha, just messin around. Those darkside pics are insane! Love it. I tried out a car tire awhile back to go drag racing and could not believe how much i hated it in the turns. One of these days i'll run across one of you guys who'll smoke me it just hasn't happened yet... and yes i've left many a crotch rocket rider scratching their head. When they catch up they always ask "what is that thing!"  ;D

One of the errors we regularly make on this forum is to refer to "a car tire" as if they are all the same.  There are certainly several different options and they are varied greatly in how they perform.  Some perform very unlike a rounded bottom tire and some you can hardly tell a difference at all.  The air pressure used also tends to make a much more distinct difference than one will experience with a rounded bottom tire.

Expressing one's one time experience with "a car tire" as if it applies to all such makes one a bit like the blind men who visited the elephant.   ;)

Mr Whiskey

I run the same tire on the Wing that I ran on the Valky, in the same size. There's a 10 lb pressure diff to get the proper handling, 46 wing vs 36 valk.

I won't claim a Non Motorcycle Specific Tire is better. But the economics are worth it to ME.

and I can still peg scrape, with the Ol'Lady on board or without. But I don't like scraping down to hard parts... I'll leave that to the Wild Bunch. I have a half ounce of sense left.

No problem.  It's good to ride with confidence, as long as that confidence does not result in dangerous riding.

I'm not sure I can outride anyone but I do like my darkside motorcycle tire (it's on a motorcycle so it's a motorcycle tire).

Let's all just ride safely.
