Ok, not to make this too long.  Y'all know I added hard bags to the bike last month.  Well nothing is ever simple, one change affects this and that.....chain reaction....so, anyway...the bags changed the way the exhaust sounds to me.  I didn't think it was a problem until I rode to Daytona and back.  400 miles one way.  Nice day ride but after a couple hundred miles I was very aware of what I guess many have complained about.  Exhaust Drone.  My ears rang for days after returning and I was seriously contemplating taking the Cobra pipes off and going back to stock.  

Ok 2nd issue...my speakers in the helmet seemed to be picking up static from the engine and that was driving me crazy and if I turned off the music the droning of the pipes was even worse.  At first I couldn't tell if it was the speakers or the MP3 unit picking up the static until my batteries died on the way home.  When the MP3 player stopped the static continued.

Third issue.  At the same time I bought the saddle bags I bought Judy an upgraded stereo unit for the bike so she could actually hear the tunes more of the time (more amps, watts and louder)  This caused me to have to turn the MP3 player down some because full loud was too loud on the bike speakers.  I couldn't hardly hear the helmet speakers with it turned down for her.

So today Im out for a nice ride and getting some things done too, and I go past Radio Shack, I decide to turn in and see what they got.  I have been looking for new headset speakers ever since the Daytona trip and no one has the kind I use.  Same problem at Radio Shack.  But, an older style headset that looked like I could tear apart, modify and use caught my eye.

After getting the new speakers in the helmet, they are a bit thicker than the old ones were, so therefore, closer to the ears, don't need the sound up on high, and they cut out the drone of the pipes perfectly.  They also do not pick up the static from the motor, I guess the old ones were starting to get a short or something, because I definitely notice a huge improvement in sound quality even though they are the same quality speakers

I just got back from another nice little ride to test them out.    

Its great when things like that all work out

Oss, you would ask that right after I just got a batch of raw chicken ready for the grill.    OK, so I dug through chicken guts to find the card that came off the package.  

Its Radio Shack technology plus # 33-276

But be advised, lots of breaking, cutting, snipping, taping, pulling and fighting to get just the parts you need and nothing you don't need and then protect all the exposed wires so it can go in the helmet.  

Was not that bad, but not plug and play by any means
