Both my progressive 440's were leaking heavily...plenty of spring but very little dampening left. The bike's been downright cantankerous the last couple of weeks.

I ride the heck out of that machine, but it's still a bit annoying. They made it longer than the stockers though...I'd guess I took the stockers off at about 50,000 miles. They were totally shot too. The bike's around 115,000 now.

Finally dug up a reciept, (thanks to HDL...I'd lost it, they were happy to email me a copy) contacted progressive for an RMA, and sent them back to be repaired. For those confused by the contradictory information on Progressive's website (like me), the 440's are lifetime warranty as long as you have a receipt. I'll keep better track of my receipt from now on...I figure if they only last 50,000 miles I'll be sending them in every other year or so...

Anyway, thanks to Wanderer for the loan of his old interstate shocks whilst my 440's take a road trip to California and back. Sheesh...maybe the shocks can stay here and I'll take the road trip!

Wanderer, you sir, are responsible for the only two clean spots on my bike! Thanks again!

I've gotta admit....the rear brake works a bunch better (more subtle feedback, less "groaning" noises) without the steady drips of shock oil soaking the disk.
