Fork Seals

No matter how much I try doing fork seals is a messy job. While I had the front wheel off I decided to put on a new front tire as well. I went with the Bridgestone 701. I have run it before and I like the way it handles although it won't last as long as an E3. About $30.00 cheaper as well. I also put a new metal valve stem as mine was quite a few years old. It seems I always put a new set of tires on every year anyway.

How's the forks coming ? Do you have the seal driver or do make one out of pic ? I like those bridgestones also. My latest front tire is a Michelin Activ rear put on backwards.

There all done Rob. Took me a little more time since I had to go get the tire. Yes I have the driver and the special spanner wrench for the left fork. All went smooth.

About four years ago I payed $400.00 for a FF job. Notice a leaking left seal last week and tried this plastic tool I bought for 6 bucks, it's called seal mate, It will clean out under the seal whatever it is causing the leak in 5 minutes. According to the seller, most seals will stop leaking after using this device unless the seal is broke. Worked like a charm!!  Leak gone. In the future try this first.
