wa HOOO!! it is not blowing fuse

man, i really do not feel stupid or anything  but after 3 days it just stopped blowing fuses. man i went through everything more then once.  i guess the moral of the story, DO NOT wash you bike with the seat off and take the nozzle off to where the water flows real heavy. the way the fuses blew, just was signs that it was drying out. how it went from blowing fuses as soon as i put them in, followed by not blowing at normal operation condition, then on to just when i pushed the starter button.  then. the morning of the 4 day it started working. no more fuses blown. i think the answer i had hit it on the nose. but i thought i dried everything but i guess i didn't.  with the weather cool it took a long time to dry. 

I think by writing here helped to calm me down and time to read the owners manual over and study the wiring diagram 10 times. i have to admit this problem i created,  just don't ever follow my lead it will get you nowhere, but a 30 pack of beer gone in a few days.

But you have to get the grime out from under the seat sometime somehow.

Did you double check the grounds? I'd be concerned that if you had a ground short that it has bounced back into contact and will bounce out one day. I think a ground  problem can blow a fuse, although it would be more likely to stop the power. hmm. something to ponder.

I know that with  a 110/220 power supply an intermitent ground can cause voltage spikes and wreck a lot of electric devices.
When I bought my 98 Standard I trailered it through a monsoon rainstorm. When I got the bike off the trailer it started and ran long enough to get it into the garage, then it quit and would not restart. About 4 or 5 days later and after many tries and battery charges it started and ran like nothing ever happened.
Since then I've sprayed every conection and switch I could find with Corrosion-X and made sure the ground is clean. No further problems.
I know you must be as relieved as I was

I ALLWAYS throw a towel over the seat and after I am done washing I remove the seat and detail the area under it as it does not like any water under there as you discovered.  If there is water there, drying it out with the wifes hairdryer helps. Just don't let your wife know or you will never hear the last of it!

Hey Roadmap , I use my  yard blower that I use for blowing the leaves around the yard ..... I set it on the hi setting and I aim it towards the bike and  AND JUST WALK AROUND THE BIKE AND it blows all the water of my bike  anywhere there is water .... I got tired of the drip dry and rag method ,  hey I still wipe down the ol FAT LADY afterwards for general drill ...  hey it really works and it leaves the chrome shinny and no water marks .... BELIEVE IT OR NOT , Thanks Old Geezer
