Hey Joe, I don't think I was on that ride, I had it confused with when we stayed in Sparta, but There are still only 4 motels in Galax, if you need the info on the other two, just let me know.

I've been told that the hotels in Galax are pretty sketchy these days.

Sparta might be a better choice.

Let me know what you're thinking here.

Were you thinking about using this for a Saturday night meeting place ?

We haven't done this ride in a couple of years and I had pretty much concluded that there wasn't any interest in it anymore.

If a bunch would like to get together in Waynesboro, VA on Fri night and ride to Sparta on Sat I'll be glad to contact the Days Inn that we've used in the past and see what i can get set up.

I just need to know pretty soon because time is running short.


I'm also up for running the BRP south on Sun to Maggie Valley (or Gatlinburg) and heading home on Mon.

OK,

I called the Days Inn in Waynesboro, VA

They have set aside 6 rooms for us.

Non-Smoking rooms are very scarce according to the manager, so if you want one of those call them ASAP.

The rate is: $85 plus $9.61 tax for a total of $94.61

This is higher than in the past but it seems that their normal rate for that week end is now $104.00 per night.

The hotels phone number is: (540) 943-1101

When you call to book your room tell them that you are with the VRCC Ride to get the rate.


The manager did tell me that they were almost out of non-smoking rooms for that night so if you think that you will be comming and need a non-smoking room don't wait, give them a call now.

The manager there has really bent over backwards in the past to help us out and will do whatever she can to accommodate us again. But please try not to wait until the last minute to book a room.

Do you have a date, place, and hotel set yet to meet?  We can't leave till Sat morning since I am off work Monday, but we are interested in meeting the group on Sat.  And we don't have to leave till Monday to get back, is that how it is for others?? With Monday off instead of Friday, it makes for a different time frame from our usual rides for us. 
If anyone is coming our way and needs a place to stay Friday night, let us know...the house is always open to our rider friends.
It seems like it has been forever since Inzane...and hopefully the weather is going to cool down a little by Sept. We have rebuilt a lot of our bike the last month or so, we are ready to ride!

The meeting point for the northern end is Waynesboro,VA on Friday Sept 4, 2015.

The entire group will "Meet in The Middle" in Sparta, NC on Saturday Sept 5, 2015.

Thought that I'd give this a "Bump".

This has been an enjoyable ride in the past and should be a good time for all again.

If you're on the fence, don't wait too long, this is a holiday weekend and rooms will sell out.


BTW: Where are all of the other VA riders?

We need to represent here guys.
