Weather prognosticators say no storms in the area until around 4:00pm. However, even though bright and sunny before that, the "real feel" temps from about 11:00am on are expected to be ranging from 102-106. Guess I'll stay home and work in my a/c garage. October can't get here soon enough.

My neighbor asked me about when I was planning to replant shrubs and a couple pygmy date palms out front. I asked him if he knew what the temp was.....yes, 95, why?  There's your answer!

You cant let alil heat keep u from getting out! Ive done 190miles since tuesday and i always wear boots full face lid, jeans, and my adventure jacket :D when u get hot u just turn up the ac err throttle lol. I am enjoying the gas savings this week. Idc if it rains lol i am saving aton taking the bike and getting 50-61mpg instead of 18-21 in the suv.

I still miss her.

Darksidemxr, I retired nearly 12 yrs. ago so I don't HAVE to go out in this heat.  ;)  Don't know what SUV you drive, but my '08 Highlander gets much better mileage, even around town.

Oh to be young like Ed.  Maybe I should have said Eddie.   :2funny:

I will say you are quite lucky to be able to be young (what 23???) and have such amazing choices of motorcycles at your fingertips.   Now stop picking on the comfort riders.  Of which im am chief!   :2funny:

25 gramps! Lol we are like the only bike on the road it seems. Although ive been needing the bike to make it to work on time lately. Taking care of two houses each morning is really getting old. Hopefully after the 1st i can move into the new place and life will calm down. Was nice yesterday, real windy and cool over in groveland.  The ride to the gym was awesome at a cool 77

25! Good Lord, the majority of my grandchildren are that age and older....much older. ;D  When I first moved to Fla. nearly 50 yrs. ago, the heat didn't seem to bother me as much as it does now. I was 28 and loving life, no longer 28 but still loving life. A few more weeks and I'll be back on 2 wheels real regular. :cooldude:

Like I said in another post. Nothing like driving 60-70 mph down highway and sweat rolling off your eyebrows into your eyes and burning. causing  blurred vision. I ride with a columbia fishing shirt long sleeve. thin and cool or tee shirt. shorts. tennis shoes with the screened mesh and still sweat. Some guys riding the BMw's ride with those bib overalls riding pants padded underwear, ski mask, helmet and heavy riding jacket. Street temps 100Deg.? I start sweating just watch them get ready to ride. After a while I am waiting for some one to pass out and run off the road from heat. Paranoia I guess expecting to crash or get hit by some one any time. Some people can do it, I can't anyway. Meds I am taking control testoseron production resulting in no T not low T. therefore inducing hot flashes which make things worse for me. I walk out of the house and start sweating and don't stop till I get back in the house. Doesn't stop me from doing everything still get out and ride. Need the adrenalin to make up for no T :cooldude: Ah to be young again. :)

Tallrider, I agree re. the temps and sweating. I don't like to arrive looking like I just took a shower with my clothes on. As for riding in shorts and not much else....I won't do it. Levis aren't a lot of protection, but they're a lot thicker than nothing covering the legs. If I do ride in summer, I use a Cool Vest which gets soaked in water to make the little gel like things inside swell up and retain the moisture for longer periods. Wear it over a T shirt and under either a mesh jacket or long sleeved white shirt.

Re. grandkids, I have a bunch; 17 grands and 11 great grands.

Now there is the difference young fellow, I don't NEED to ride in the Summer, or have to for that matter. I do have to go out in the heat though, from my AC house to the AC truck to the AC work, you probably get the picture...right? I ride for enjoyment. If you NEED to ride in this God awful heat, knock your self out. I am such a fair weather rider that I actually enjoy watching you kids riding and sweating all over your bike and helmets...have fun with that.
I still miss her.

I do ride often with jeans. Long sleeve shirt for sun protection as well. You guys in central Fla have it a lot worse than down here on the coast. Don't know how you do it up there. Not much breeze or wind. We at least have a sea breeze most of the time.

How come they wrapped your entire leg if they only worked on the knee? Rita's eldest just had arthroscopic surgery done on his knee and they just went a couple inches above and below the knee area. Looks like a mummy wrapping.  ;D

PS: This riding weather sucks.  ;)

Good question John.  ???
All I know is it was wrapped up like that when I woke up.

BTW perfect riding weather if we could get rid of the t-storms but keep the high humidity.  :2funny:

Pappy!

Have been riding the Red & White to work and back all week. Overall not bad riding. Today after the Tstorms passed it was absolutely perfect riding temp. Almost passed the house and kept going it was so nice.

IamGCW

Wow Eddie, guess Nurse Kim will be riding alone for a little while.

Hope to see you riding again soon, heal first though.

Do You Know The Difference Between  Minor Surgery And Major Surgery ?
Minor Surgery Is When It Is Happening To Someone Else!
It Is Always Major Surgery When They Are Cutting On Me, LOL !

I Hope You Heal In A Timely Manner !
