Yep, only way to keep them shiny after the first time is to keep it up until they are so short they need to be replaced.

That's how Not to drag a peg. Rider went down did you not notice that his foot disappeared and his hands disappeared from the handle bar that was also dragging

if you look real close you will get a glimpse of the riders pants turn a little darker..

Didn't notice the pants getting darker but did see him sliding in front of the front tire

darn 'made in China'  footpegs, don't last very long now do they?

I'm not a peg scrapper, but have from time to time touched down my cobra flooboards a few times mostly taking a slower speed turn too sharp.    Very lucky they flip up an inch or so otherwise might end up on the road myself.
