I agree.. While I was sitting on it I was looking at my IS through the window. I told the salesman that I would be back when I wear out the Valk... I was thinking though, that the new one would make a great Side Car Mule.....

                          As I have been saying the NEW Valkyries are NOT ment to replace the one you have.... there are already alot of others that have 2 already.... I wish I could have kept my 1998 STD. just couldnt afford both... I did keep it close though, sold it to a friend that was having trouble with his Harley..... Ya he got the Harley fixed and will keep them both, but says he knows which he will ride on our Long week-end summer rides........ I think there will many more other brand, or other riders that once they see more, and if, they get a chance to ride one, will join the dragon riders...

Great price, but I'm still not sold on it as a replacement for my original. 

My black new Valkyrie was no replacement for my red and white old Valkyrie.
I would have been miserable if I had bet the farm on the new Valkyrie and
sold or traded the old one. But... after a lot of work, I could live with just the
new one now. It is terrific bike, and now is usable in all the ways the old
one is.



The extreme awesomeness of the old Valkyrie, though,
outweighs its monetary value, I won't sell it for $4,000
and I won't strip it... I guess I'm stuck with it...



It is handy to have two bikes. Its not like the maintenance
is doubled, unless you start riding twice as much. I used
the red bike on a big ride last fall, when the black bike's
rear tire was used up...

The new ones are zippy skippy. Fun to twist the wick! Sure am comfy on my '97 tho!

They just don't fit me like my Interstate. I would have to wear mine out first and I'm still working on that. 144,000 + and climbing.

That would be the one I bought. Or it's sister. They had two. One was number 26 but had 70 miles on it and mine is number 72. I painted it When it had 400 miles.

I have to agree with most everyone on this thread.  While I love riding my new GW, it simply does not put a grin on my face the way my Valk did, and still does.  I rode the Valk down to Tucson to show the bike to the buyer and I am glad I got to have one last 300 mile ride on her before she leaves the stable on Monday. I, too, wish I had the room to keep two bikes.
