1800 work

Seeing it rained Saturday I started my r blinker relocation.  Honda made the wires to the blinkers nice and long so I don't need to get the solder gun out   once the blinkers are moved I can mount the new saddlebags.   There was a part of me that did not want to put saddlebags on the 1800 but iffen I be two up we need more storage.  So here is what the 1800 looks like with out the fender.  Much easier to deal with than the 1500.  Blinker relocation answer came from John S when looking at his bike on a ride.
  I totally scored when someone on Ebay did not know what they had.  Brand new champion patriot saddlebags for ----yes----- $200  . Had them painted. Will be using the stock Honda bracket.  Hope it all looks good.

One good thing about having two bikes is that you can still ride while one is being worked on.

They will look GREAT if you move the blinkers out of the way so
that you can line them up with the fender 



I considered making my own brackets (beyond my pay grade,
I would have needed help) and using the OEM brackets with
some kind of homemade adapter (probably very doable)...

Adding bags to the new Valkyrie sure improves the overall appearance. Seems to make it look more streamlined, something was needed to offset the large radiator covers. With bags it seems to match....or maybe a better term; balance the appearance. I like the looks of it much better, I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with Jerry. What you've done with it so far has been good. 

And yes....you stole those bags.

I want to try this area and attach a bracket where the reflector mounts. hoping to do a peal stick reflector so it looks the same after it is installed. I will be working on the bracket this week, not easy when the bike is at the cottage, I will not know how far back the bracket will need to go to clear the bags. I may need spacers here. The bracket will be flat with a bend back on each side.  Forgive the MS-Paint cut paste to show the idea.

Yes,  and, but of course it must be black

I too like to fabricating things, like the brackets that I made for my transformer passenger pegs. I like when I see someone make something for themselves that looks as good as a factory part. Nice job Jerry, hope to see the end product soon, including the bags.

What lights do you plan on going with if the Admore harness works? The stock lights look fantastic on that bracket you made.

I'm not sure however just having the option is well worth it.
