Iirc, mark the center height of the headlights on a wall, back the Valk away 20' and adjust the headlights so they are 2" below the mark.  Read this in a m/c magazine a few years ago.

Top knobs adjust the vertical aim and the bottom knobs between the headlights adjust the horizontal.

My lights are perfect when I'm riding solo. When wife (no she anit that big)and gear are added high beams too high and I use low beams most of the time  unless running interstate or wide open roads.
Don't see anyway to get thw best of both worlds.

Go H.I.D. and never use the high beam again....

For me, I pull up to a smaller car in my neighborhood and set the headlight to where its just at the top of the trunk...done

They are making HID units that have high and low beam.  The filament moves.  I am considering it but would like to see some recommendations as to brands and retailers.

Can you tell me, how does the adjustment works? I turned my left side knob counter clockwise and it didn't move, I want to lower the beams.

From page 3-17 service manual

Adjust vertically by turning the vertical adjusting screw
(GL 1500CF: knob) .
Adjust horizontally by turning the horizontal adjusting screw.

The picture shows the hor knobs are center bottom. vert would be the upper 2 corners.
