Any 1832 Darksiders out there yet?

Considering the sorry state of the stock tire issue, have any 1832 owners gone to the Darkside?

not even an option for me, my insurance won't cover me if i use tires that are not specifically made for motorcycles. Province of Alberta. I believe Ontario insurance has the same clauses.

Yep, and they made me verbally acknowledge this as well when I called to get insurance.  Too bad, I would love to try it.

I'm from Alberta and have run Darkside for 5 years. First I've heard of any insurance issues and have never been asked anything about tires. Change insurance companies. Yours wants you to run an inferior product!
If you get in a wreck, and it comes down to tires being the reason, the risk is much higher with a M/C tire.
Go Darkside and don't worry about it.

Sorry, I didn't qualify my ride - I'm on a 2000 I/S so I don't know if a C/T will fit an 1800. My assumption is that one will.
As soon as Momma is looking the other way, my 2nd biker will be an 1800.

Have DS on 2 1500s and happy. I do believe there is one or two that will fit the strange size 17" rim.  Not sure if I want to go DS on the 1800 as it is a different bike. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

Just took this pic and thought about this thread. I dont know if you would want to go Darkside on these since, I am almost on the sidewall with the wear. Not to mention the contact patch of this tire is actually pretty large even on the corner. The only advantage I would see is longevity.

Being 66 yrs old I don't hotrod around much anymore so I'd do well with a car tire, Tried one on an 03 Wing I had about 10 years ago, I did ok with it but was always a little nervous while in the hotrod mood. I had it mounted on its own wheel, my plan was to only use it on long road trips on the interstates, they will give better braking and wear rather than wearing out the more expensive M/C tire. I'll prolly try one when the stock tire is kaput.
