Pappy!

I traveled up to Williston this morning to look at some old outboards. The owner of the property was killed recently, run over by a piece of heavy, tracked, machinery.
Anyway, his son in law works at Monterey Boats and contacted me. I remembered him from when I was stationed there doing some engineering work for Volvo Penta. Fast forward........
While there looking at the engines I noticed about 30-40 motorcycles. Several 4-cylinder Goldwings with the best being a GL1000 and having a 2016 tag on it. Many Honda 750s, Yamahas, Kawasakis and Suzukis as well. There were a couple of Yamaha 650 twins that looked like they were capable of running as well as a Yamaha RZ-350 which I think is somewhat of a rare bird. This family will need to clean out the property soon and would like these to go to someone who will bring them back into service or?  I feel they will be very reasonable in price. If interested or if you know anyone interested let me know and I will get whoever in contact with them They are great folks.
BTW - I did pick up a "Bendix Eclipse" in excellent condition. This small outboard was manufactured by the Bendix Aviation marine division back in the 30s or 40s. Single cylinder air-cooled engine with gorgeous and intricate castings, all intact.

EDIT - There is also an air-cooled Lauson up there that is pretty much intact except for the lower covers, which may be there somewhere. As I understand it this engine is a small 4-stroke engine and is supposed to be an excellent runner. It is very similar in looks and size to the Bendix as seen below.

Got a picture of that Bendix? Always found the old engines more interesting, maybe because they're pretty basic....like an old motor scooter.  :cooldude:

Here is some information on that Yamaha RZ350. Turns out it is the last of the two strokes and quite the performer!

John, just downloaded these for you. The really cool thing is that all the fins in the top of the engine and along the exhaust are cast aluminum and very delicate.....and all intact!

Also picked up this really cool old Oliver Fifteen. Again, completely intact and will be a good running engine once brought back into service. A friend in Tampa wanted it.

And here is a photo of what I am pretty sure is the Lauson

Any old Kawasaki 900's in the mix?

Had to laugh at the write up on the bike, said "below 6,000 rpm, didn't make enough power to pull the skin off a bowl of rice pudding." That's pretty weak, but apparently it came on strong the last 3500 with a 1/4 in the low 13's. Most of the pictures didn't come through but those that did are interesting old motors.  I assume you're going to restore them, should be a fun project.

I must need some sort of an upgrade , as I cant see any of the photos.  :(   I would love to have a GL 1000 ,just not sure i have finance for one at the moment. Same for a 650 Yammie twin .
