Any alternative to Progre$$ive 444?

I just put an ATT on and love the handling and RPM decrease. Problem is it bottoms badly on bumps, even one up. I have the OEM showas set all the way up- they have 77k on them so I dont have a problem replacing.  I searched the forum and it seems as if the 444 series is what is recommended to prevent bottoming with an ATT. They're $600!! Does anyone know of an alternative or a spring rating that will keep my wife and luggage off the top of that tire? Thanks in advance.

I paid $449.94 at Amazon last year for my 13 inch 444's on Jade.  Really like them.  I did upgrade the springs to 140/200 rate, spring no 03-1318-20B/30.  About $20 for them.  I'm at 280, have the springs turned down 5 of 8 preload turns. Perfect for me alone, pulling a heavy trailer and an occasional co-rider. Rarely need to change it and the bumps just disappear.  Keep a strap wrench in my kit, makes it much easier.  I'm running an ATT at 43#.

Thanks guys,  I'm not a fan of air shocks, didn't find any deals on I/S shocks, didn't want used.  Mark I appreciate you sharing the spring rating that keeps you off the ATT. I opted for the 412 series with the 140/200 spring.  They have the velocity sensitive dampening feature and I'm hoping the main difference between them and the more expensive series is no hand-turn dampening adjustment.  I was surprised to hear a lot of guys having problems (leaks) with progressive shocks as I've never had a quality issue with them on other bikes. Still pretty sure they're overpriced in general but felt OK about $230 for the set on Amazon. I was pretty psyched that my local machine shop was able to resurface my rear rotor but it was warped once I put it back on the bike  . Amazon to the rescue again, got a nice british made rotor for $50 less than Dennis Kirk.  I'm assuming the $50 chinese rotors are a bad idea.   Next up will be final drive service before our trip to Nova Scotia at the end of August.

I had bottoming out problems on the 440's so I went to Works Performance Street Trackers.  Have ad them on about 70K miles with no issues at all.
