On Aug. 2nd, I ordered some front turn/run lights from China, and wondered how long before they would get here. The estimated delivery was next Wed., 8/24....bummer. So, every couple days I'd check the tracking # and for what seemed like forever....nothing showed, only the day of shipping was posted. All that showed after that was "in transit" day after day. Arrgghh! Then suddenly it popped up last Saturday in New York where it was turned over to Customs. OK, now I'm thinking it will get lost in the tons of stuff and I'll get the order this time next year. Then 48 hrs. ago it left NYK "in transit" to destination. OK, so far, so good, except if it comes in by truck it will still be a week since the truck delivery is basically a "milk run" down the east coast. But just in case, I just checked and lo & behold....it made it to Orlando in less than 48hrs., to Winter Park in a couple hours, and is out for delivery. It must have come in via plane rather than truck. Now, the waiting game begins since our mail usually doesn't come until after 4:30pm. Guess I'll hit the gym early to I can be here when it's delivered. I hate waiting, did enough of that in the service.

Once installed & wired in, I'll be able to mount the headlight and at least try to stuff all the wiring back in the bucket....doubtful as it may be. If not possible, I'll fabricate a mount for my Adjure bucket and use that. Once I'm sure all that wiring will fit, I'll sand down the chrome bucket and paint it black. Having a big chrome headlight sticking out in front will be as my Ft. Worth friend suggested...."will look like a diamond in a goat's butt."  Or like George Burns once said...."like putting a new flag pole on a condemned building, it just doesn't belong."  

UPDATE: They did come in today and are a perfect match for the rear units I installed a couple weeks back. Same size, shape, color, etc., think I'll get a couple fork clamps to mount them there. If I put them rather high on the forks the wiring will be long enough without having to splice extra length on. Also have a front brake splitter from an '82 1100 coming, the "T" shape splitter currently installed seems to be the source of my front brake problems. Just for kicks last night I started the bike without any mufflers, the two gals that live across the street about jumped out of their knickers. When I shut it down I yelled at them....."get you some of that ladies."  They both applauded then went back to cleaning out their garage....which reminded me of an archaeological dig site(kinda like mine actually).

Me too, I want instant gratification.    While waiting for the fork clamps I'll fine tune the wiring for the installation. Finally got the left side muffler mounted and it's solid, now on to the right side using the left side as a pattern. Once it's all done and the appearance is even from the rear, I'll then put the clamps on and check for leaks. I'm getting antzy for this thing to be on the road, even if it isn't painted.

Yea that is better!  I think it would be really awesome if your next adventure was a 1500 Valk.  It's time??  I know I have said it before.  I'm like a horse with blinders.   Just trying to plant a seed.

Only one person needs to be convinced, she's sitting in the next room.    I've already brought one Valk back to life after it was next to a fire in the shop for repairs. This 1200 project has taken a lot of time and fabricating, not sure I want to do that again. Wouldn't mind an 1800 Wing that's been totaled but rebuildable, I'd make an 1800 Valkyrie out of it, but then I'm looking at more fabrication. Oh well! If I had Bill's talent on a lathe(or he lived closer), it would be easier.

That remains to be seen, will have to wait until the paint and seat are done. 

By the way, I finally made an appt. with a new surgeon re. the hip, getting worse. I was researching the Orlando area for a dr. that uses the anterior approach and this one does. He also instructs on the procedure so I figured if I end up having to go that route, that's the guy I want. He did a professor that teaches out here at Valencia Comm. College, he was back playing golf in under three weeks.
