Here in Orlando, sent the guy a note asking about mileage, general condition. He told me it came from the SW and looks good but not running. Needs the carbs gone through I'd imagine, along with some new brake lines, flush out the gas tank, probably a few other things. Been in storage since 2010, local guy got it from a fella out west, said he had reached age 71 and was no longer able to ride. Kinda makes me feel pretty good. Only problem I see is the bike has 205k on it. I'm not afraid of the mileage, but it would make it difficult for me to sell it. It's an Aspencade so has the CB, tape deck and radio w/intercom, also reverse. He invited me to come take a look at it but don't think I will. If anyone is interested in a nice project, this would do it.

Bert, I'd give him $1500 just for the black one if the mileage wasn't so high. He's dropped it $500 since I last saw it so doubt it will come down anymore. If I wanted to keep it, I wouldn't care about the mileage. But, as long as the 1200 is still taking up space in the garage the "law" has been laid down re. any additions.  ;D

I'm wondering what the white one would go for, he bought the black one as a parts bike for it but has never needed anything from it so decided to sell it.

I would love to commit to this . I am afraid the CEO would commit me . Id love to have a complete spare parts bike. No issue at all with the milage . My daily rider 94 has 205K as well. I dont think I can turn that much coin unnoticed :(

Grumpy

Here is another project like yours, cheap. I just do not have room to keep it.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Can't you just tell her you found it on the side of the road....and it followed you home??

I'd at least want a '97 or later, that's when the last major internal changes were made to the engine prior to the 1800....corresponded with the advent of the Valkyrie.

OnaWingandaPrayer

correct John about the changes . The transmission received a lot of attention with the advent of the Valkyrie.
