You all have a real good time: we just did that ride. I have one suggestion, since we just got back from a 9-10 day run up the Trace from Natchez to Nashville and over through the Smokies before getting home last Sunday night. It is simply this: don't count on easily finding hotels rooms wherever you go; it's leaf viewing season and rooms are tight in many places. Nashville is particularly tight.

Maybe you'll be lucky, but we found that at our late afternoon gas stop, if we could figure out where we were going to end up in a few hours, we booked ahead and lots of folks were scrambling for a bed. I could have rented out my rental property in Tellico Plains 4 to 5 times over throughout the month of October, getting 5 booking requests for this weekend during yesterday's noon hour.

Just a heads up.r

:o

Thanks for the heads up but we did consider, Nick is right, not much of any color change traffic in Vickburg or Tupelo. Getting to Nashville at the end of the trail is near our hotel. That will be a Sunday afternoon so might not be as busy as the 2 previous Sunday's in Oct. we will see. I was in Nashville this past Sunday - Monday I got a room at the Hampton Inn right by the Gaylord Opreyhouse w/o any problem the day before I got there. I'm thinking the reason might have been it was aSunday night. It was hot and dry up there this week.   :-\ I hope your trip was comfortable. Thx again   :coolsmiley:

Getting Closer, just wondering if we have a final count?  Pappy & Lesa were a maybe last we spoke? Looking forward to it, hope the weather holds out.

Hey, I was going to call you soon. We have all 4 still planning on being ready to go. I talked to Gary a couple days ago and he is ready, leaving around 6-7:00 on Thursday morning. I'm going to be in Tampa Sunday night at the airport hotel for a couple nights and back out Tuesday for Pensacola. How far away are you from the airport? I'll still try to reach out. I was hoping Pappy could make it.  :uglystupid2:

That's good, waiting to here back from Jerry & Sherry when they get back from the Mountains. We will probably hook up with the FL group up around Homosassa FL Thursday morning around 9am or so for Breakfast.

Then we will head out for the Panhandle, getting to Milton around Dinner time or so. Not sure yet if we are staying with my Friends relative's in the Panhandle that night or getting a room with the others at the Red Roof inn.

I guess we will have a meet up spot for Breakfast Friday morning before heading out to Natchez Miss. Looking forward to the ride, let's keep in touch in case there are any changes.  :cooldude:

Hey, Yes, if you end up at the Red Roof where Gary will be there is a MC D's at that exit. I told him we would meet there at 6 AM it is on the North side of I-10. The hotel is on the south side of I-10....
That was just going to be a meeting place and I thought we would leave by 6:15, no later and head up to Monroeville for breakfast at about 8:00. Too much traffic at that time of morning. I'd say get to MD's early for a cup of coffee or eat to hold you till we get to Monroeville. Nice breakfast spot in Monroeville.....:coolsmiley:

Pappy sent me a PM and they will not be making the trip.  :'( He said his back was giving him some problems.  :-\  Keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a guy who likes being on the go!   :coolsmiley:

'Tis true. Have enjoyed stellar health throughout my life to date. This hit pretty hard and put me on my back, in bed. No clue what brought it on. Seems to be where everybody gets theirs. Low, near the tailbone. Made the mistake of working a few days last week while in pain and that apparently was not the correct thing to do. Could not walk by Friday night again.
Lesa said......."Men!" and shook her head. By the end of this weekend the pain is starting to go away some but not going to be doing much of my normal twisting, bending, puling, pushing, lifting, climbing  kind of stuff for a while.

Maybe U and John should hang out in the hammock, and Lesa and Rita should hit the road with us  :2funny:

Sweet,  :cooldude: your 6 that makes 10.  :uglystupid2: Friday AM when we leave it will be around 55. The rest of the mornings out will be a little cooler as we head up. Nashville might get down to 45 to start but warm to 68-70 as we head south.  Just Awesome! :coolsmiley: You guys have a great ride up and we will see you around 6pm for the meet and greet. Then head to a good dinner at Grover T's and still get acquainted.  :coolsmiley:

Update. Photobucket says down for maintenance so no pic at this time

Left 6:30 am from Milton with Keith, John, Joe and Bill as the Milton gang and from our group Nick, Sherry and I and Ed and John on the Two HDs. Hit Natchez Trace parkway at 4:20 our time. Very warm day using lots of sunblock. Spent around an hour on the parkway and now in Vicksburg. Thoughts on the trail, a bikers heaven,  I liken it to a rail-trail bike path. The others went out to a sports grille so we are just here on the board for now.

Did you lose Pappa G ?

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

_Sheffjs_

He met us at dark 30 but did not decide to
run with us. I did not get his direction of travel.

_Sheffjs_

Thanks Keith and thank you for your leading us.

:cooldude: An awesome 4 days of riding in MS, TN and now Alabama. The Natchez Trace Pway was a nice relaxing ride. Nashville was really fun even on a Sunday night.  :o Barbers Motor Sports Museum was just incredible here in the Bham/ Leeds area today. If you like Motor Cycles of all kinds and years they are here. They had maybe one of the First Valkyrie's of the assembly line. A beautiful 97 Red/ Pearl White with 10 miles. The stamp date was 4/96 and hopefully Jerry will post the pic of us all kneeling in front of the display.  The race track on site was being used by the Indy race team of Andretti Racing while we were there. The windows of the museum face a part of the track and these Formula 1 car drivers were screaming around this track!  :D
Tomorrow we finish up here in AL going the on the Cheaha Ride and splitting up with our S. FL Valk brothers and sister  :uglystupid2: in Montgomery. It was a Great few days and I'd say I'd go anywhere with this team. Thanks for all involved to get this trip planned and executed!  :coolsmiley:
