Let's try something different to end the year, We would like to gather our VRCC friends at the Salt Springs Recreational Area in the Ocala National Forest for a simple but delicious feast in the woods. This is a very serene place with magical healing powers !! A Gorgeous clear water pool with springs, the grounds have picnic tables and bathroom facilities. There is a small entrance fee, 6 bucs I think. I will check into a club discount !
We will bring some fixins, Boars head cold cuts, (ham and American cheese), shredded lettuce  some nice hoagie rolls, mayo, mustard, and some chips, paper plates and plastic ware. Let's make this a BYOB, "Bring Your Own Beverage". There is a gas station very close to the entrance if need be. If there is another (2nd) meat we can agree on I will add it, like Turkey or Liverwurst ! An accurate count before hand will be helpful so we don't over or under buy.  Also side dishes are welcome, and bring tomatoes/pickles as you wish. If you prefer to bring your own samich/hoagie/submarine/or wedge let us know. !
Let's hope for some nice weather so we can reminisce about this crazy 2016 year.  :crazy2:
Mike and Liz   ;)

Meet at noon start eating 12:30.

Patti and I were thinking of heading to Mt Dora afterwards to see their light show. I don't belive it will be to much out of the way.

We swang by there on the way home today, yep 6 bucs a person but worth it i believe. After the guard shack is a stop sign, go right to the first left or North parking lot. There is a gift/snack shop there now so drinks can be bought there if you like. They also advertise some microwave-able sandwiches but really consider some Cold Cuts first. We should be easy to find once you head for the water down the path. Hope to get more of you peeps to come out and feel the magic !

As much as I would love to make this one, I am on some drugs that affects my balance and Doc says no riding till I am off this stuff. Looks like another 2 weeks of meds to go. Figures I would only get this crap during the best riding time of the year. Guess I will stick to the boats for a while, if I fall out, I just get wet, no road rash.  :tickedoff:

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

There are plenty of picnic tables, we couldn't decide where we want to set up cuz they all look great, a few concrete slabs have 2 tables able to hold 20 peeps easily, decent bathroom facilities we will be within a short walk of and the snack shack. Thanks for heads up Steve, work on recruiting some of those fellas and hope you feel better. Hope to see Deb and Fred feeling good enough to make it and Jym with the warden.  :cooldude:

Are there any meet ups for the ride up?
We were thinking of taking 41 north to were ever, then cutting across to there abouts and from there to another road that would lead us to our destination. LOL

Mike & Liz,

This is a really nice thing you're doing, and I'm impressed with the entire thing! No wonder to me why this Florida group has remained vital and relevant all this time, and why indeed the ranks have even swelled! Thank you for taking the initiative and making the effort to contribute above and beyond... You do make a difference!!!

I do plan to attend, assuming I make it home from Alabama tomorrow... No guarantees ever with this guy, of course, but as near as I can tell at the moment, I should be there wearing my Gerbings and a big ol' smile... (Hope this doesn't discourage anyone else from going...)

DDT
Don't just dream it... LIVE IT!

See ya down the road...
