Yes that is my bike, This A-Hole was in a hurry to get to the ice cream shop. The luck of it all was the car in back of my bike was a Hernando county sheriff that saw me going over and stated to the trooper the car was speeding into the parking lot. The A-hole got in the troopers face and got belligerent with the him when he was given a traffic ticket for failure to yield on coming traffic, to the point were the Trooper put his right hand on his gun and motioned him to back away. He claimed his CDL license would be revoked because of the accident. He then walked over and KICKED my bike in front of the Trooper and me. He was warned by me that next time He touches my bike I would beat him to with in five inches of his life. The Trooper warned him not to get with in six feet of my bike or he would be arrested too.  He claimed my head light was not on, so the trooper made me turn on the key and it was on. I informed the Trooper that his signal was not on, which he did believe. The damage is mostly on the left side, foot peg, air horns, highway peg and stand off, saddle bag, chrome guard, fairing, rear left speaker pod and my left side mainly just sore. The center stand saved the exhaust and probably more damage to the bag and chrome guard.
On a side note this A-hole informed the trooper and me that he owns a Harley and is a very safe rider, I made the Trooper chuckle when I told this A-hole "too bad you weren't riding your Harley".
This happened Wednesday night but I've been to pissed to look at the bike or write about it. I did call my insurance provider and I have a $250 deductible.  :) But his insurance should take care of it.
I was pricing out parts (that were mostly used) that has it at around $3000. And get this the Honda dealer will give me a professional estimate for $176 an hour at a 2 hour minimum !!!

Thank God your ok, the bike can be fixed! Sad to say the roads are full of these idiots see them everyday!

TJ

Glad you 're ok , Bike can be fixed...

Very sorry to hear about the Phat Girl, but happy that you weren't bent too bad. Make sure to find the best and most expensive parts that you can, and have that Honda dealer do the repairs. That way the IDIOT will get his insurance rates jacked up, and he will remember this for a long time to come.

Also sorry to hear about this.  Glad is was a hard bump and not a smash.

He kicks your bike.   :crazy2:

It's hard to kick him in the nuts with the cop standing there.

If I was the cop, I would have gone to field sobriety tests right away.  Even if he's not drunk, it's embarrassing and humbling (and who knows, maybe he was).

There, but for luck and karma, we all go.

Damm, sorry to hear that. But glad you are OK, sheet metal can be fixed.  Dealer rates are absurd, not a way to get business.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

What is going on? Two in one week. Glad you are ok and Rick down south is on the mend.  Thanks TJ for the updates there.  The day of honesty is over,  "it was never my fault".

My reply to that would be.... OK, but if I give you the complete repair job, you'll credit me with the estimate cost (against your entire labor bill), right?

Ordinarily, the insurance co holding the bag on liability coverage provides their own estimator/adjuster.  When a shop wrecked my bike years ago, the shop's ins co hired an independent contractor estimator who only did bikes and was a real pro (drove up from Richmond).  Many insurance companies simply have no competent bike estimators on staff, and have to farm the work out to independents.

Seems to me someone's insurance company should pay the Honda dealer's estimate bill.  It's part of the overall damage bill after all.

(I worked together closely with my estimator since my '86 FXRD was only one of a thousand made, and many of the parts (all the body work of a dresser) were no longer in production, and I'm the one who found one for sale in a crate of parts in TX)

Pappy!

Very happy to hear you are okay!

Florida is a no-fault state. Your ins. will take care of the damage and charge the A$$-Hat's ins. co. for the repairs to your bike.

Flrider

WOW Eddie.
Really sorry to hear about your accident but happy to hear that you are in one piece.
Sucks what people are really like now a days.
Insurance companies do not fix parts, they replace and that is where the cost of fixing your bike will be.
You should look and get familiarized with the replacement costs of the parts that have been affected, including the saddle bag that he kicked and got messed up.

Moofner

Glad you are okay man. How dumb must someone be to get in a Trooper's face. Like that is going to convince him to change his mind?

I'm glad I carry both a phone and a concealed for jerks like that. Who knows what idiots will do when they are willing to go that far?

Sad to say, better the Valk than you.

Sure glad you weren't badly hurt.
It does sound like his CDL needs revoking, lots of excuses thrown out there.

Glad you weren't hurt too had.  When I had my wreck, the other guy's insurance was paying but they wanted me to take the bike to a Honda dealer for an official quote.  That quote would have totalled the bike.

So I hurried up and bought my own parts ( all new OE and aftermarket). I sent copies of my receipts and they paid me for those parts plus a fair amount for labor and the bike didn't get totalled.

The adjuster laughed when he said why was the Honda dealer estimate more than twice the money was I sure I could fix it for less than half.  I told him it would be fixed better than the dealer and he should look at their estimate as just a suggestion, a bad one!

Steel cowboy

Thank you ALL for your advise and messages of support.
I have already started buying replacement parts, the side mirrors and Kuryakyn adaptor for the foot peg. I will try the swap meet on Sunday for a set of highway pegs and standoffs. I'll be looking for a set of air horns too, funny thing, a few months back I bought a stock horn and chrome cover.
His insurance adjuster will be coming on Tuesday and I have already looked up and printed (for my own knowledge) all the parts on the Honda site and eBay so I got a good idea of the cost and work needed.

Glad you're not hurt... but the bike sure needs some love.  Pretty crazy that the guy who hit you was the one getting all mad and stupid.   It's a good thing a cop was right there to see it all.

Going over and kicking your bike is a new level of stupid by an  already-deranged idiot.

Good luck getting all the parts put back where they belong.
