Nostalgia handlebars, old school 40s (beach)

If I measure correct the 1500 stock bars with no controls (off the bike) measure
4.5 knurl to knurl.   8.5 center

Height 7.5      11.5 pull back         33 width

Looking for a nostalgic 40s looking handle bar without going too far or wide. Has anyone gone this route? If so what brand/model measurements?  Pros or cons?

It's a bit wider than I expected, 36" to be precise, but I love it. Control cables are just about the right length, albeit I had to reroute the throttle cables behind the triple tree. I had them originally installed with the Aeromach 4" risers, it was comfortable but since the bars were kinda extra wide with not too much height, the end of the bars were hitting my knees/thighs when executing U-turns. I solved this issue by adding ROX 2" Pivoting risers.

It's perfect now!

Stock measurement: GL 1500 C Valkyrie 1997 - 2003    1" dia., 6" rise, 33" width, 14" pullback, 9" center width, 100mm on center knurl. That being said, I waiting on a set of Baron Starbars which are 36" wide, 4" rise, 12 1/2" pullback, and I believe 10" center width.

  I like the look of the 1"  diameter bar over the fatty as it is more old school looking to me.  When you have this bar mounted can you please PM me a pic divers top down view?   Thanks

  Your bars have the right curve look however I'm going to try for a bar that is 1" diameter the entire bar.

It tough to guage handlebar threads as to what folks are getting and why. Seems most on the Valkyrie are looking for more pullback and a slight rise to get the handlebar ends closer so they don't need to reach out and down so far. I need just the opposite. Less pullback and 1 to 2" rise increase minimal. In the stock position the bars are way to close to me. I did a lot of research, and beside mini-apes I believe the best solution is XF6 handlebar risers....4" risers, straight up. Anyone have other suggestions? I did try rotating the stock bars up, but I can't go high enough without doing wrist contortions. Not natural or comfortable. I agree, by the time I get mine rolled forward enough my wrist take a beating. I need something more forward and without the weird wrist angle.
The stock bars are like a tiller to me...

Interesting, the 2014 Valk is way different than my 1500s, more "motocross feel" "less tiller" more reach to find them.  Lots on the 1800 board went to great trouble to change the stock bar, I love it as it is.  I was contemplating powder coating a set of stock 1500 bars for my 1500 standard but will wait of the ride report above.

Well finally got the time and weather to install the Starbars.

The low speed handling is greatly improved. They are lower but not that much but there seems to be a little less "arm sag" so to speak. They are doing what I wanted them to do and the chrome is very high quality. There was one 1/4" hole in them on the right side that I plugged with a pencil eraser and silicone to keep excessive moisture out as the hole is facing into the wind otherwise it can't be seen.
