10" Fat mini apes fitted

I finally received the bars I ordered late Feb and while they are not quite as I expected them (only had measurements and pic of similar on the site) they are comfortable, only done a real short run but I like the feel, will do some more miles and see if I want to adjust them (Roll them up)





they are not as turned in as the original bars, much higher than them too, The temp bars I had on with the long risers were more like dirt bars and what I thought I wanted but they got my wrists after a while, these don't have the same pressure points as those so time well tell if they are what I wanted.

How Do from Minnesota US!
Can you post a picture with the apes fitted. I'm thinking of changing Hbars as well. Curious about the look.

They are fitted in those pics, Although they could be pushed forward more so they are more upright to get more height if I need it, I just set them where I felt comfortable, They higher, not facing quite as far back. Here are some pics with the old bars wire tied in place







I will go for a longer ride when work is done and take the tools to adjust if I need too

Did you know when riding it's seems to be best to have the bars set so the the back of your hand makes a straight line into the top of your forearm.

That is almost as they are, could roll up a touch more, But I loved the way they felt, so much easier to corner than the factory bars, counter steers naturally and even though I was riding at night I had a ball through the twisting roads for over an hour last night.....looking forward to getting out in daylight Saturday

The bike used to want to push wide on the twisty roads that I used to counter by body position....not now. I am surprised it made as much difference as it has.


next is suspension (new fork springs and shocks coming) small screen, I don't want totally out of the wind just weight of the arms and back rest ....when I find the time

Did you have to change out any cables, and of course...where did you get the bars/model/manufacturer? Are they 1" bars? I just put new risers on, so if they are more than 1" I am out. Lol

They are 1 1/4" and I got them locally, made over here so not so economical for you, he does 1" bars as well and I thought about those as they are cheaper but I have clamps for a screen that are 1 1/4"... but the 1 1/4" 2" high risers were way dearer so I should have ditched the screen bits 

The wires had plenty of length....the only thing that was tight was the clutch hose, brake hose not quite as tight but both are not under tension so are fine and still run like they used to be, choke and throttle cables sit better now.

I am not sure I will use this supplier again, he was real slow getting them made

36" wide, 10" rise, 9" pull back, 12" center width is the specs I asked for

I was going to ask for some Custom T bars but after trialing different risers with bars it showed it would block the lights on the headlight.....and just didn't look right

Thanks Leathel. I am itching to try the bars I had on my Shadow 1100 on the Valk. I loved them...might try it someday.  They are basically 8 1/2 " mini apes. Very comfortable and cheap. They have half the pullback over stock and 1.5" wider (good for us bigger guys). Quality was excellent. They needed to be drilled for the Honda controls, but that was no big deal to do.  http://www.jpcycles.com/product/5000065

They look the ticket, because I have mine angled back a little the I am not using the full rise.... but I like the extra height and width
