here in Deadwood S.D.  Been here since last Friday and only one day on the Valkyrie so far.  Rained a lot  and predictions are for some light snow for the next three nights.  We hope to move closer to Yellowstone on Friday but that is kind of iffy because of weather.  The Kyle Petty Charity ride came by our campground early this morning in the rain.  Must have been 100 motorcycles of various kinds.  We just heard them and looked out the window.  Hope y'all are getting some relief from the heat.  Checking our cameras at home it still looks dry.  We have been to the Devils Tower in Wyoming and yesterday to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse.  We liked Crazy Horse more than Rushmore.  When you exit you can give a donation and get a sample rock about 3 lbs. or so.  Good way to get rid of the rubble.  Yes we have some pictures to come at a later date.

Wow Terry sounds like a chilly week. A couple pics of the valk in a dusting of snow would look nice tho !  ???

Pappy!

Glad you two are having a good time! Right now, 46 sounds wonderful to me. Yes, still dry here and up your way. Not much relief in sight yet.
Post pics when you can....would love to be where you are right now.

Needles Highway is a great ride if you have the time. :cooldude:

Really glad to see y'all are still out yonder doing it! Lots of folks, and you know many of them, dream and plan for such an adventure, then discover it just isn't for them. One trip, often abbreviated at that, and they're done! You two are obviously in this for the long haul, and I admire that! Hope to see y'all down the road someplace... sometime... InZane perhaps?

Don't just dream it... LIVE IT!

See ya down the road...

Hello Terry. I've been off the board for a couple of months, so am outa touch as to what everyone is up to. I had back issues, but a few cuts and nips and tucks and it appears to be improving again.

Did you trailer your Valk out there? Behind an RV? Sorry for the questions, but Viv and I are flying out to Albuquerque in mid June, renting a car, and spending a month touring. We are planning, and have booked rooms in all the areas you talk about, plus many more. We are really looking forward to it.

While we have been out there before, some areas are new. Maybe we can touch base via PM, or talk if you get back before mid June for some pointers and observations. Thx. :cooldude:

Pete we have a 2006 Dutchman Victory Lane Toyhauler that we pull with our 2006 Dodge Ram 3500.  The Valkyrie rode in the back.  So far we have been about 2500 miles.  Quite a bit of diesel and we had about a 20 mph headwind coming across S.D.  It took us 4 overnight stops to get here the 5th day.  We went sort of diagonally across the U.S.  We hope to leave tomorrow and head on toward Cody Wy which is just East of Yellowstone.  Might stop in Buffalo Wy. to avoid some bad weather over the Bighorn mountains.  We just had some snow flurries, not sticking yet but we might get pictures of it tomorrow morning.  I know it wouldn't excite you being from the NE but for us FL. Crackers it is a rare sight.  We can compare notes one way or the other before you come out.

I'll try to add more pictures but the internet is kind of slow here in the park.  Looks like about an inch and a half and still snowing.  We have decided to stay one more day at least.  Might be difficult to load the bike.  Rushmore,Crazyhorse,Devils Tower, the one Mike wanted and the truck and RV covered in snow.  We went to Sturgis today and got some shirts then rode to a reservoir.  It was snowing when we got back to the RV.

Looks like you both are on a good trip. It's always the little changes, usually weather related, that make trips memorable. Btw, Viv and I are spending two nights in Cody on our upcoming trip. Seems that my New England born bride is a real Rodeo fan.  :o As for you burning a lot of diesel, I got lousy mileage on my trip last summer when I trailered the Valk out to Lawton, OK and back. Oh well, you can t take it with you!

Looks like you guys are enjoying retirement. Looking at those pics, I could have sworn Mr. Rushmore only had four faces last time I was there.  :cooldude:
