Switch mounting ideas needed.

Bought Kim a nice little set of driving lights to mount on her Valk for Christmas.
I know where to mount the lights but coming up with a nice switch and a good location to mount it is baffling me.
Any suggestions or ideas? Pics would be great!

The Rattlebars site has a suggestion to use the kill switch. Or, I believe there is a brake/clutch resevoir cover switch currently listed on Ebay.

A friend has his highway light switch in the plastic panel in front of the tank. Left side. The panel covers the wiring loom just behind the steering neck.

I used the brake/clutch reservoir cover switches, gives you a total of 6 switches if you use both.  I'll send pics if you like, but right now I am in Pittsburgh and the bike is in Detroit.

See the gray covered switch at about the 8 o'clock position to the petcock control. I have the lights wired totally separate from anything else, including the headlight circuit, and have the relay mounted on the left side just in front of the overflow tank. That switch is a covered one, picked up at West Marine, screws down over the toggle and makes it pretty near weather proof. The switch itself is in back of that short piece of SS it's mounted on and I've been caught in a few of our Fla. downpours with no problem. The way I have it wired, they can't be left on unless the key is on.

John, I have a similar set up on the RH side of my Valk on the SS filler using the rocker style switch that came with the Showchrome light kit, relayed of course. That stainless was a PITA to drill through!


Kim's Valk has the Corbin covers so I was thinking mostly about a handlebar mount. She would have a fit if I even suggested drilling a hole in her Corbins!!!
Scott that link rules! I really like the kit that has the bracket that can be used on either side. I doubt she will want any more accessories, possibly some LEDs so a single switch will be enough.

Eddie, I put mine in the front plastice cover, can't remember the name of it You know, the one in front of the side covers with the seat release key hole. Real nice, can't see it and very accessible even when riding. Doesn't ugly-up your front end with extra switches

also on the Tourer when I had it, same place.  The switch can't be too long or the tree will hit, probably the one you have on your bike would work as it is flat.

I am referring to the triangular black plastic piece held on with one fastener I think without going out to look.

I second the plastic panel on the left side.  I have the switch for my Volt meter there.  I dont have a picture.  Its easy because thats right close to wires that go under the tank to make it to the battery and wires that go forward to get to your lights.

If you get a micro-mini toggle from Radio Shack, you can mount it in the left switch housing and toggle it on and off with your thumb.

recall, I saw that switchbox too & I noticed the same thing. It would have been perfect.
Very clever toggle switch RP62!
I ended up ordering the switch & mount set up from Scootworks link that Scott posted. It's the one that bolts to the brake OR clutch mount. I'm going to mount it on the clutch side so the switch is below the handlebar. If it works out I may get another & move the switch on my Valk up to the bars instead of down on the side.
I'll post pics of the finished job.

Why use a switch at all? I didn't bother with a switch. I run mine all the time (visibility is good, ya?).
