I want to swap my rear lower fender from my Tourer onto my I/S including the tail light.
My question is, is the wiring for the tail light in the harness that disconnects at the spot where the fender splits? I notice the connector on the interstate is hidden behind a metal cover of some sort.,

The standard/tourer also has the metal box. Unless it's been damaged.

I did this with a Fender I picked up online.  Fully equipped rear fender from a Tourer onto an interstate.  I had to buy the correct wiring harness to have everything hook up like it was designed.  Stuffing the connector into the box where the two halves meet was a challenge but it did fit.  Works like a charm now.

If you want the taillight, just swap that. The IS has a plastic plug for a tail light.

A complete intact rear fender from a std/tourer, with the OEM wire harness, should swap easily and plug right in.

Rear wire harness A & B is different for an IS and a std/tourer.
