I have a battery tender that has alligator clips and the cable also has an SAE connection. Can I plug this into the SAE accessory port or do I have to use the alligator clips when charging the battery?

I attached my SAE pigtail to the battery and zip-tie that down near a rear footpeg.

Then I just plug in when done riding (24 X 7 X 365 when not out on the road).

The same SAE connection can be used for heated gear (though most modern stuff now used coax plugs, so you use a short converter wire) or my tire pump.

The alligator clips would require pulling the seat and battery cover...... every time.

That's the way to do it.  :cooldude:

Thanks guys. Wasn't sure if I would damage something sending a charge back to the battery that way.

I have a Gerbing coax plug for heated gear that pokes out bottom rt fwd corner of the seat on Deerslayer, Jade, BluByYou, George, and the Magna.  Added the matching plug on 2 of my chargers.   Always bring the 6amp digital charger on trips.  Been too many times the battery has been dead so now that's required kit. Also handy if I want to run the bike stereo for entertainment at the motel while spinning Markaritas.
