On my last bike, I had the 4351 Kuryakyn Premium Floorboards, front and back, and LOVED 'em.

I was disappointed to find out that Kuryakyn does NOT make the necessary splined adapters for the Driver on the Valkyrie ( after I bought the beautiful '99 IS I currently have) but they dohave one for the passenger.

After killing a few brain cells, I came up with a plan.

1. Purchase an extra set L and R of Valykrie foot peg assemblies. ( I paid $29.99 on eBay )

2. Purchase a set of Kuryakyn splined adapters for any bike. ( I bought the cheapest ones I could find $19.99)

3. Buy the Kuryakyn floorboards that I want.  The Kuryakyn 4393 Premium Mini Floor boards are the ones I bought

4. Take the pegs and the splined adapters to the Metal Shop. They wacked off the splined portion of the splined adapter. They wacked off the foot peg from the OEM adapters on the extra set of footpegs I bought. Then they welded the splined piece to the OEM adapter and Wah Lah !!!!!  Add a little silver spray paint to cover the weld and we are in business.

I now have a set of floor boards, riding on the OEM Adapters. I got the 4393 boards because they are just large enough to provide plenty of support but a little smaller than the bigger 4351 model. That way I can easily get to the gear shift peg, which I also modified by having the peg wacked off and the arm drilled and tapped to allow for the Kuryakyn ISO Shift peg, which is larger and easier to access for me.

All in all it makes a nice set up and allows the use of any of the Kuryakyn floorboards that work with the splined adapters.

Hi Mark, I have the same ones on my girl. I was sitting in the garage one day looking at the mini floorboards for the passenger on my other bike and thought wouldn't it be great if those would fit on the front of the Valk. I don't remember exactly what parts I used from the two bikes but didn't have to do any cutting, just put them together and they fit. I love them for those long rides.

Looking at the rear splined adaptors, they should work on the front with the "mini" boards. Thanks for bringing up the mini boards as I'm running Dually' peg's at the present. The center distance on the front spline is very comparable to the Duallys thus allowing shifter/brake pedal position be the same. The splined adaptors have adjustment to make the up/down level.

These say they are for the rear but look like they will plug right into the front square angled hole. The original pegs look like they are stepped down though. That would make these too high. ???

That's why I went the way I did.

The splined adapters by themselves are too high for me, while the OEM pegs are dropped down a bit.

Having the splined piece cut off the Kuryakyn adapters and welded to the OEM part puts them at the perfect height ( for me ), and the splined adapters with the Mini Floorboards allow you to move them up or back to the right position as well as tilt them up or down to just the right angle for your feet.  The name Mini is misleading as they are plenty big enough to provide all of the support you need and make it comfortable for those long rides.

I get it now.  Sounds way cheaper too! What kinda metal? (weld strength)

Do the minis make a big diff?  I have full Cobras on my 1100.

I'm new to the Valk (80 mi on my ass). The OEMs look much better than just pegs.

I'm no expert on metal work, but,  the shop I use has ALWAYS done me right and specifically a fellow there named Terry.  Based on his opinion, the weld strength will stand up to a herd of elephants. And he did a really nice and clean job on them.

The Mini floorboards make a HUGE difference and provide great support for the long runs.  They aren't all that much smaller that the full Kuryakyn 4351 that I had on my Shadow VT1100C.

I'm extremely happy with the floorboards, the workmanship/welding of the splined adapters and even the added cost of another set of used OEM pegs ( I paid 29.99 on ebay). If I ever want to change back I can, but I'm pretty sure these Kuryakyn floorboards are a keeper.

And as an added benefit, IF I ever decide to use the 4351 floorboards, I can put them on without modification since I have the splined adapters.

So will these fit into the square in the front? I don't have my bike here to check. Kuryakyn states for the rear.  Are they the same?

+ the 2" offsets like Houdini's above.

If I can get away with it, I'd rather nor cut the OEMs -- just in case..

No one of the dealers had info on the size of the Kuryakyn 8825 so I called kuryakyn and the product guy actually got the part and measures it to be 3/4" square. The tapered peg #7946 that is designated for fitment in the front position, measures 7/8"(it's prolly metric). He also said the hole location matches so I will need a 1/8"(+/-)  shim and these should work. I ordered a set before going further just in case.

Well, I finally went after it today. Even though the splined adapters fit, they were loose and felt clunky. The stop set screws could not work because of the receiver hole.

So Markymark had it the best option all along.  I'm gonna take the OEM pegs and have the splined ones welded to them.
