Britmans post about moving and getting out of traffic prompted me to share this. I’m moving to Richmond, Kentucky which is about 20 minutes from my sons house in Lexington, Ky. I am about 4 miles east of the closest entrance to I75 which barring terrible weather or a major traffic mishap seems to be an easy ride back and fourth (6 lanes along this section) so it is faster to his house than it is to get from one side of Lexington to the other.
However I did look into other ways into Lexington without using the interstate and I discovered this,

Not only arethere some excellent motorcycle roads (curvy and hilly) but in less that 10 miles there is a ferry to cross the Kentucky river. Pretty kool except late evenings when the ferry shuts down. I also used some back roads traveling from Campbellsville, my home town about 90 miles away which were nice for a Sunday afternoon cruise. Once I have moved I’ll have to document the roads as I was just out wandering and didn’t pay much attention to road signs or highway numbers.
Still keeping an eye out for country stores that sell fresh sliced bologna sandwiches and also a place with great bar-b-cue.
