Well excuuuuuuuuse me. I stand corrected. BFD. I studied United States history NOT Canadian history.  First of all the liberals have been saying that Trump is going to get us in a war since he took office. Here we are.

You are missing the point. Trump is putting America FIRST. You don't get it. The US has been getting the shaft from lousy trade deals with every country in the world including yours for decades.  Trump is putting a stop to it and you're bitching. Don't like it,tough. I am not touchy ,I am just sick and tired of people from other countries telling us how thing should be in the US. You don't live here. WE do.

Mad6gun,
I don't blame you for not knowing much about Canada.  We are a pretty boring country.  Smiley

I have no problem with the US getting a fair deal.  I also agree that the US has quite a few bad deals.  I also think that Trump is going about it the wrong way.

Trump thinks that by telling half truths, lies, and believing in his delusions of grandeur is going to have the world bow at his feat.  The opposite is true.  Most countries pretty much see him as a joke now.  Listen to what they say about him.  That reflects on the US.

Half truths:  When he was talking about the huge tariffs Canada has against your dairy and poultry.  But he doesn't talk about the huge tariffs that the US has on out tobacco and other stuff against Canada.   Your going to say that is how negotiations are done.  It only works if the other side doesn't know your full of crap.

Lies: The one we all know about Putin this week, he was going to jail Clinton, etc.  I believe there is a long list that I saw somewhere.

Delusions of grandeur:  He is the president that has been the hardest against Russia.  I believe Kennedy and Reagan have him beat on that one.

Mind you, all the other politicians are a bunch of lying sack of craps as well.  If you want to get ahead, he needs to play the game, unfortunately.  The biggest problem with Trump is that he doesn't listen to anyone.  He believes that he is the smartest person there is.  Far from it.  His tactics may work in business, but it doesn't seem to be working in politics.

He has the keys to the nukes, and I think he is crazy enough to use them.  But, hopefully, someone else won't let him.

Everything he has done so far is working out pretty well. But as Mark said, you are from Canada and apparently can't  see.
Please...don't lump us all into "Mr.Ontario Man's" category...some of us actually pay attention to what is going on.

Like I said in an earlier thread...we had a family visit from the Bay Area California for a family reunion function who sounded a lot like the Bscrive Trump rant...must be horrible living in that CNN/CBC  Manufactured Echo Chamber...Just trying to have a two way conversation is like lighting a stick of dynamite with these people.

People choose their own limits.  My threshold is five.  I figure one, two,or three misspellings can be attributed to careless typos.  When I hit five I tend to disregard what the typer has to say.  We each choose our own limits.  That's one of mine.

May we live in interesting times Wink This quote, " "One theory is that the PBOC is depreciating the yuan because it has not enough ammunition to fight a dollar-for-dollar increase in tariffs. The markets are very risk-off. There is a loss in confidence right now," from below really caught my eye, because it seldom comes up in any way when discussing the upcoming "trade war". When I hear the dire warnings about risk to the US economy, there's seldom similar analysis regarding other nations. China does not have unemployment like in the US. Short term drops in the need for workers would cause more upheaval to the satus quo in China than here, and no country wants a united citizenry POed at them. At least we've been training Americans ever-increasingly since the 1960's that you don't need to work anyway, just sign up for stuff. Embarrassed

SINGAPORE (AP) World stock markets fell sharply Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump said he was prepared to put new tariffs on all Chinese imports, escalating the rhetoric in a trade war that could hit global economic growth.

KEEPING SCORE: From being up slightly earlier in the day, European indexes were trading lower. Germany's DAX fell 0.5 percent to 12,622 while France's CAC 40 dropped 0.7 percent at 5,377. Britain's FTSE 100 fell 0.3 percent to 7,661. U.S. indexes were poised to open lower, with S&P 500 futures down 0.2 percent and Dow futures 0.4 percent lower.

TRUMP TALK: Trump told the TV channel CNBC he was ready to exchange tariffs with China until all of China's exports to the U.S. worth over $500 billion a year are hit. "I'm ready to go to 500," he said. Asked if he would do it even at a cost of a stock market drop, he said: "If it does it does."

The comments come as the U.S. government is also considering taxing auto imports. Critics lined up this week to urge the administration to reject the tariffs, arguing they would raise car prices, squeeze automakers by increasing the cost of imported components and invite retaliation from trading partners and allies like the European Union and Canada.

ASIA'S DAY: Earlier, before Trump's comments were aired, most Asian markets finished higher. Japan's Nikkei 225 bucked the regional trend, losing 0.3 percent to 22,697.88. South Korea's Kospi added 0.3 percent to 2,289.19. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.8 percent to 28,224.48. The Shanghai Composite Index rebounded 2.1 percent to 2,829.27. Australia's S&P-ASX 200 increased 0.4 percent to 6,285.90.

YUAN DECLINES: The People's Bank of China set the Chinese currency's central parity rate to 0.9 percent weaker against the dollar on Friday. If the yuan continues to depreciate, goods exported to China will become more expensive to consumers there. Chinese exports would also be relatively cheaper, possibly balancing out suggested increases in tariffs by the Trump Administration.

ANALYST'S TAKE: "One theory is that the PBOC is depreciating the yuan because it has not enough ammunition to fight a dollar-for-dollar increase in tariffs. The markets are very risk-off. There is a loss in confidence right now," said Francis Tan, an economist at UOB Bank.

CURRENCIES: The U.S. dollar was trading at 112.45 yen, roughly unchanged from Thursday. The euro rose to $1.1651 from $1.1644.

OIL: Benchmark U.S. crude added 8 cents to $69.54 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude, used to price international oils, gained 6 cents to at $72.64.

My question is:  was it would, or would not????  I would not say it was 'weak and dishonest' but, I would say he was weak and a liar.

Turns out he really did make a mistake.

Trump was told of the indictments and was given the choice of whether they would make them public before the summit or not.  Trump said, let'em fly as they will give me leverage.

Art of the Deal, Babypop! ! ! ! ! ! !

Nope, art of the stupid.

Seriously though, I really believe he is suffering from early dementia.  Nobody can be that unhinged and still be sane.  I think some are starting to notice, but they are not sure how to handle the situation.

Did you vote here? No? Then stay out of our business.

Quite the statement from one who voted in that twerp up there.

He has the keys to the nukes, and I think he is crazy enough to use them.  But, hopefully, someone else won't let him.

You may or may not be correct  in your opinions.   Not worth my time or effort to debate them but, you obviously do not understand the nuclear release authority of the US.   I assure you, if the President  authorizes the Gates of Hell to be opened, it'll be over before it hits CNN.
The President is the final authority.

I agree.  The US is enjoying the lowest unemployment in a generation.  Blacks have the lowest unemployment in a very long time.  More jobs are being created, the stock market is doing very well (my 401k has EXPLODED!).  The reason the non-us citizens can't see it is that it doesn't affect them.  Sort of like the less-than-moral things that Trump has done doesn't affect them.  I would prefer them to myob, or take their mom's advice and "if you don't have anything nice to say, then shut the snuggle up".

The limit is normally applied to a single post but once I categorize one as unworthy of serious reflection they do tend to stay in that category.

I used the improper term, typer, as I thought it would be a travesty to identify some of our posters as typists.   Wink
