I just spoke to the surgeon.  Bruce is out of surgery and on his way to the recovery room.  Everything went well and the surgeon said it is ALL good news.   cooldude

There will be more stories and tales from the road to come!  I am happy!

Soon to be In room 9205 for the night.

Bruce is in Vanderbilt in Nashville.  Room 9205.  Cards will likely miss him there as they will send him home on Friday (today).  I am sure he will be checking emails and messages Friday night.

I will keep you all posted the best I can.

Thanks everybody for all the replies and comments! Well, it's true… I'm out of the hospital and back at Big Wolf's house. I departed there this morning, minus one faulty part, and filled with gratitude for all Jerry & Mural have done and are doing! I'm also mighty glad for all the good thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes from all of y'all...

I'm up walking around every hour or so and anxiously waiting for an elevated pooperosity level! Once I have one of those events, I can then return to eating normal food! Until then, no bacon, steak, of pinto beans! No knife or fork necessary for my current diet, and... well... I'd really rather be able to use those and actually need them to eat the good stuff!

A couple of surprises came my way... For starters, all the advise Jerry has been giving me and information he has been sharing has proven to be spot on! He had this same surgery a couple of years back, so he is a wonderful coach! The surprise is that this aging carcass of mine did as well as it has, and that I'm out of their on schedule, and progressing nicely... Another surprise... they didn't shave my pubic area!

As Jerry had said they would, they did poke a catheter up my wiener and hang a urine bag on my leg... and the catheter has to remain for nine days! Soreness is lessening with every walk, and things look rather good at the moment. All things considered, I'm mighty happy with things the way they are... now, if I could just take a bodacious poop soon... things would be even better...

DDT

P.S. John, no horseback riding and no bike riding either for a while... Prospects for a return to either do appear to be near term possibilities! I forgot to inquire about dancing, though... don't know that one.

You’ve had some awesome, epic posts in the past.  cooldude This one might be my favorite ! I’m so glad to hear the good news. Adding in the manscaping and pooperosity segments made the post stupendous as my Dad used to say. (That Jerry is alright !)

Remember the OTC Fleet Enema can be your very good friend and savior, when all else fails.  The mild saline should offer no complication to surgery (unless the medicos claim otherwise).

Without trying to be too graphic, I've developed a very satisfactory methodology.

The goal is to let it work for as long as possible before liftoff.  If you don't, it can be a complete waste of time.

Not even Superman can hold it in the sitting position on the throne for long.

So you administer in the bathroom, then lay down flat on your stomach right there with your pre-positioned pillow and think happy thoughts for as long as you can (or even use some reading material).  Laughing, coughing or sneezing is not recommended.  (And this is not a photo op.)

After a nice long period of contemplation, you hop to the throne for a happy ending (not the best kind, but a good kind).

This has been a public service announcement. (Apologies in advance)
