The Purolator filters at Walmart are made in Fayetteville, NC.  All aspects of that filter are subject to extensive testing.  Rubber parts have a shelf life.  Could the chrome oil filter that failed been some aged stock?

My local little hardware store has V-belts hanging up that look like they are from 1961.  Not on my Tractor!

I think he got the chrome Fram filter.  Smiley
