I don't particularly like serpents.  I also would bring it to near a stop and dismount as quickly as possible.  I do, however, not like to hear a person use the phrase, I'd lay it down.  Use of that phrase demonstrates a lack of understanding of effective control and management of a motorcycle.

I can't see the head well but only the color pattern.  Is that a pit viper?  Was that picture taken in North America?
