I agree, that was a GREAT story. I think some people just have good character from birth. The story reminded me of my son in a very small way. He was a very thoughtful and kind kid. In his third grade class was a Down's syndrome kid. She was a little on the mean side and didn't get along very well with the other kids. Kids being kids she was shunned by most of them but to my sons credit he always stuck up for her and never let anybody pick on her. He has gotten into some trouble growing up and didn't always make good decisions but that story reminded me what a good kid he was . The young man in the story sounds like someone who is going to go far in life.

I know what you mean, My son Eric was similar. He got into more than his share of trouble in school, but he and a couple of his friends belonged to a thing called Circle of Friends. They kind of looked out for kids that were different, and subject to bullying and such. They stuck up for and defended them, and included them in their social circle. I was always proud of him for that.
