Excessive comfort breeds weakness. PttP

I posted a quick response on the InZane thread that I probably shouldn't have placed there.  I don't want to hijack that discussion.

Lats Wednesday I took Lori to the E.R. as she was experiencing debilitating pain in what she described as her back or lungs.  After a significant amount of testing they believed that had it narrowed to a hiatal hernia strangulation.  They admitted her thinking we would deal with it the next day or the day after.

She has now been through all the tests and preparation they have intended and the surgeon has scheduled her for surgery on Thursday with a planned release from the hospital on Friday.

Prayers for the both of you, you have both been such a help to each other. I grin every time I see that wedding picture of the two of you, both smiling so much. You each knew you had found a winner, and it showed. I'll ask my Better Half to put in a good word for safe and successful surgery.

Never heard of such a thing.  Good luck and a successful and QUICK home bound ways.  Sounds like a one day surgery in/out is not a long drawn out affair.

Time for you to play nurse for a change right?   Roll Eyes

A former, now retired supervisor where I work went in for routine throat inspection and after x-rays found cancer.  Has to have operation last day in Feb. to put part of his intestine, cutting out part of his cancerous esophogus (throat),  in it's place.  Extensive 1 day surgery with 2 weeks of bed ridden hospital stay afterwards.  Goes to show that it can always be worse.  At least he followed drs. orders and went in yearly as they wanted to and caught it in time for stage 1 cancer is more than likely curable.

Best be safe than sorry and glad you took it seriously and got her in.  So often,  we (or should I say ME) brush off matters until a few times needing hospital stays darn near waiting until it is very painful needing ASAP attention.     One was a severe ear infection just hoping it would get better dr. wanted me to get admitted to hospital and I declined running major fever and out of it, the 2nd one being an infected growth/cyst/gunky matter in my neck area became inflamed and very sore/red and major fever that time as well having to go in ASAP and cut it out NOW!!! I worked that night until midnight on that one even though I was OUTTA it and barely awake/living!!!  If you would have seen my neck bulging out inflamed/red like the hunchback of notre dame  that night at work would think I was deformed for sure.  I was going to take a razor blade that night and cut it open myself to relieve the inflammation and not wait to get to the dr. the next morning.
