Finished my chores around noon and after reading Joe's ride report I was jonesing for a ride and some texas BBQ
Called G-Man but he was at his son's basketball game and he couldnt ride
So I saddled up (mesh jacket) and headed out and down the big hill to ride along the Hudson As the title says there were whitecaps and the breeze felt really good.
There was a state patrol car hiding in the woods going up the river but I saw the glint of sun off his car in plenty of time to slow down more than 1/2 mile from him, no speed appreciation award
Caught up to a group of noisy harleys and passed them before starting up the goat trail. As you get near the top the wind becomes most bodacious and the smile grows wider. No traffic on the goat trail outstanding dry pavement and no bike riders pedalling in the road Dont get no better
Snap decision to take 9D north to Cold Spring and meandered down to the gazebo on the waterfront docks. Took this pic of the small cannon

then hung out awhile to watch a freight train, only a hundred or so cars on the opposite bank chug upriver. I am a sucker for trains

My stomach grumbling led me out of my reverie and east I headed on 301 to 9 and south to the BBQ which I ordered to go and just finished
So my ride was great, no rain fell, the food was great and now I am going to walk some of the mashed potatoes off with the dog
catch you later
