Well at least one. But where there is a brute this size there is usually a following of some females. Its getting close to the time to get the feeder cleaned out and running so in the fall when its not 2 million degrees out there we can go shoot a couple of these bad boys. Man are they good eating!  |

That size we just got the backhoe and buried them where they fell. For eating we would look for younglins and even then they could be gamey.

I can't speak for Florida, but in Texas they're considered an invasive pest, eradication by all means necessary is not only allowed but encouraged... I've seen folks who put Tannerite under bait, sit back until a bunch are at the Tannerite, and blow 'em away. Oh man, my mouth is watering.
I haven't checked for a season around here. There were never wild pigs here before, but, there are so many Mennonites and Amish growing them and the escapees apparently turn wild pretty quick. And, the population is growing.

I didn't see any pictures, but 820 pounds is substantial. I estimate the one on my trail cam (top of post) to be around 300 pounds and that is big enough to kill any man that gets in the wrong place at the wrong time! |

The javelina or peccary are the only pig like animals native to the New World. All the wild pigs we see are either escaped domestic animals or the descendants of such. They do turn "wild" quickly and they are a problem in several parts of the U.S. |

On April 3rd, 2004 one Hog Hunter got to witness a most extraordinary Hog hunt, one that would shake him to his core. It really made an impression on me, how aggressive they were.... |

As long as your talking pigs its a dandy for sure an not trying to mess up your post but have to add because we just don't have them around here . a lady told my wife this morning that they just moved on a farm and when she opened up the door this morning this cute little pig just wandered in the house. Ha ha I guess the dog and cats had no clue what the hell it was.
