The changing track of Irma had us worried for a while, like it
was going to head straight here. We also were preparing for
our friends from Charleston to bug out with their horses and
come here. Finally it didn't go near Charleston and its track
was way west of here.
But it still raged on Monday evening through early Tuesday
morning, caused a big mess, blew down a bunch of trees, took
out the power. Some "leaners" too big for me to deal with, too
near the house and buildings.

So much for my shade tree mechanic days...

I was real impressed when they started shoving logs into this machine...

Here's what it looks like now... they've taken three easier leaners and
cleared out a bunch of what needs to go before they can take this
one. It is leaning on the shed the red Valkyrie was in, over where
the tractor was and over the building beyond way up into an oak
tree. Pictures don't do some things justice, it looks like a little pole
in this picture, but is really a giant heavy lever arm all mashed up
into the core of my little compound...

The tree guys seem to be hard working and safety focused, I can't wait to
see how they move the tree off the buildings...
