Hi everybody, is there anybody having an MCS cruise control on his 99 IS? I just bought one second hand but there was no installation instruction included and it is not available from the manufacturer's website either.  Any idea how could I get one?

Are you talking about a MC Cruise Control? If yes, try:  https://www.mccruise.com  If you don't find what you want, email them. They are a very service orientated company. Was it on a Standard and now you're putting it on an I'state?

Yes, I talk about the MC control. It was on a Standard before. I wrote an email to MCCruise at the very same time I started the topic but there has not been a reply since. As I heard they are not really happy and helpful with those ones having used equipment. I'll wait another day and write them again. However it would be great if somebody has the manual and could it e-mail to me.

With the corrected name, have you done a search in the Tech forum yet? I know there was a post either spring last year or there about.

I must revise my previous comment on MC Cruise customer service. I have received all the necessary info through e-mail. So I can confirm their total willingness to support any kind of customer's enquiry - really great attitude. So from now on if anybody needs this kind of info I am ready to send it in pdf. As soon as I get the material I will start the installation. I will keep posting how it goes.  Cool Smiley

How happy are you with your McCruise? Could you give me some info like pros and cons about it. What is the speed range it works in between?

My McCruise works at any speed I've set it as high as 80mph. I do think I need to run a new vacuum line as the old line I suspect leaks.

The real problem is traveling in groups as your speed will stay constant and most have a mechanical cruise that allows the speed to vary significantly. Also the actuators are really sensitive to the ethanol and can get gummed up. I find that as long as everytime I ride I engage the cruise it isn't a problem anymore. Also you can't use LED's in your rear brake due to the low resistance to ground through the LED's. The Mc Cruise see's this as a fault. You can add a load resistor or something available through McCruise if you want. Lastly be extremely careful with the connector and pins to the cruise control module. Those pins remind me of many of the F/A 18 connector pins and are extremely easy to bend and break. I can't fully seat my connector or I loose contact of one of the pins and I can no longer set the speed for cruise control.

If this McCruise unit didn't come with the bike I would never install it but since I am very electronically savy I figured I may as well make it work. I now own a second Valkyrie and have a mechanical Break Away throttle lock.

Let me know if you have questions, I was sent lots of extra manuals troubleshooting tree, actuator cleaning process, electrical schematic (this was critical) and the installation and operation manual.

KF,  if you have another Valk to set up you might want to look at the Rostra CC.  I installed one in May and following BobB's complete writeup I had no problems, just the usual mod tweaks.  It's been very reliable since, and there will be no vacuum problems either as it's electronic.  See the thread at http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,86066.0.html and my posts farther down on the thread.

One thing to remember is they're in Australia.  About 12 hours time difference.

Finally I managed to get the MCS tempomat installed in my 1999 IS. It is an MCS 4530 type vacuum based cruise control system and it works fine. Allthough it is not a place to advert but I am really greatful to 'themotoguys' in the States where I got the equipment from. It was indeed in a very good and fully functioning condition. I am also very thankfull for McCruise for all the info they provided. I still need more time and mileage to confirm the functionility in 100% but I feel very positive about it. I will keep posting how I get along with it.
