« on: January 11, 2020, 09:16:40 AM »

Hello all! first post here hoping you guys can help me out!

I have a 2000 Interstate Red and Black here in Miami. I dont feel i need the lower fairing radiator covers on the engine guards. Im getting the Voodoo Works Grudge pack trunk put on with 2x 10' speakers,
upgrading the front fairing to 2x6' speakers or 6xp speakers with 2 tweeters and 2 800w amps and second batter on iso switch.

My question is i want to add 2 more speakers to the bike off the front lower fairing engine guard area what ever size i can if there is a kit or if i need to get an extended engine guard bar to make something work please point the way to that too!

Ive been dreaming of getting this bike for years only 30 here and a huge fan of the RUNE but for now out of my price range, i picked up my Valkyrie from the original owner in Deland florida with just a little over 50k miles so he barely broke her in! he was getting old and couldn't keep up with the bike, he tried to keep her running and put 50 miles a month local roads only for the past 8 years but when i drove it from Deland Florida to Miami Florida some rubber grommet disintegrated into the clutch system and tore it up inside, we were afraid it was the transmission but thankfully not and only had to rebuild the clutch and after that i took the Valkyrie on a trip to Jacksonville and back good as new these bikes are so amazing and powerful and I'm proud to be a owner of one finally!

(also anyone know any good tow hitches? getting the Tagalong Wheeless Trailer to get some storage space back)

Will share photos onces all the work is finished!

My tinnitus flared up just reading this!   Sounds like a great setup for the true audiophile tho.

Just looked at that trailer, interesting but I wonder how it would feel in mountain twisties.  Seems like lotsa weight behind the rear axle.  Welcome aboard!

I have a really good sound system on Jade - Tourer.  400w Kenwood amp, 300w Lanzar Crossover with Bluetooth (and subwoofer support if I ever install the speakers for that), 4" dual speakers on the bars with surprising good sound, audio sources Garmin 650 Zumo with XM/Sirius and MP3 player, 2000MP3's per SD card onboard, or Android phone with 128gB memory and my 9550 MP3 collection; and of course Pandora/misc music aps for when near cell towers.  Lotsa music available.  Deerslayer similar setup.

I run a hitchdoc, happy with it and the quality.  I also run a swivel hitch which isn't made anymore.  A good site to peruse for similar info/dialog is the Motorcycle Trailer Towing & Touring Group at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/951296858346031/

I've done a lot of mods to Jade, safety and convenience stuff; bling not so much.  Listed here: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,107621.0.html

I pull a Tagalong trailer (modified quite a bit, suspension, lights, wheels) and a Timeout camper.

J&P Cycles has a few bullet style speakers that would fit well on the crash bars.  I have a stereo system with JUST two of them bullet speakers and Its a great sound

this the amp

If you get rid of your pods you might want to look into getting a set of standard/tourer crash bars to replace the interstates. There will be a few tabs that look ugly without the pods on.

ill let you know how it handles if i make it to the mountains! i love to travel and since my amps and LED light brains will be going in the tourpack trunk with 2x 10" speakers i will need space to take my drone or camera gear but remember to keep the hitch trunk light thank god the engine is heavy as hell on our Valkyries!.

My Hitchdoc is the type with a receiver so the ball carrier is removable.  Though I never remove it.  I also got the convertable balls - I actually have occasion to sometimes pull another trailer with a 2" socket.

The audio system is of course modular so I can't capture it in one shot or shoot the connections.  They are wired via a PC-8 power panel and relays.

Since space is so tight under the seat - lots of stuff there including a relay panel, the control/solenoid box for the Rostra cruise control, looms, the hi-power 12v socket (for the compressor power) and of course the battery - besides the Lanzar Crossover - I had to put the Kenwood amp where the ICM was, after moving the ICM forward, behind the coolant reserve tank.  You can see the Lanzar, the Kenwood, a couple looms, the 12v socket, the top of the relay panel and the ICM in this pic.

The phone X-mount here, with it's 5v power and the direct audio wire to the Lanzar.  The Bluetooth connection was unreliable so I wired it directly:

The Zumo with adjacent Passport and Tekonsha trailer brake control.  You can still see the tach by leaning left:

The XM/Sirius antenna for the Zumo's satellite radio (and traffic & weather).  I also use MyRadar ap on the phone when in cell range:

I believe they are the same size, just without the ugly tabs. Should be able to easily get a speaker mounted and highway pegs.

Hey Aerial......if you like to travel and you want some twisties you are in for a treat.
Inzane, this year, is located in Asheville N.C. again. Doesn't get any better than this. Clear your calendar for around the first or second week in June usually.

Been using Ken Heming's High Output Alternator for quite some time.  He has a great alternator and is very well versed in them.

Last time I talked with him he needed to figure out how to get back into his web page to make changes.  He no longer has the password to do so for some reason.
