Dr appointments can be important.  While we would love to share a meal, some tire kick’n and BS stories with you (not to mention some wind), taking care of yourself is ultimately more important.   Hope all is well and if we see you then, great.   If not, later on down the road.

Be well and be safe.

Glad I could help.

Have edited the poll to ask if hotel reservations have been made.   When I asked how many had reserved rooms at the hotel for our event, all I got was a blank stare.   Roll Eyes

Sir,
Please accept my sincerest apologies.   I will address this once again with the facility manager.
Do you happen to remember the name of the person you spoke to?

Glad you got the room booked.   Thanks for working with them.  I will address this with the Manager again.   I will explain it to him that we hope to make this an annual event and if he hopes to keep his facility as the Go To GZ, he needs to get his ducks in order.   Thanks again.   cooldude

I would also like to encourage those of you coming to take a look at who else is headed this way and investigate whether or not your paths could cross.   It's always fun to meet and ride with another Valkyrie brother.

Just something to consider.

This is an open invitation to all, regardless of what two, three or four wheeler you use.

Several of us in the Hattiesburg, MS vicinity have been meeting and decided to host a social and riding event centered around Hattiesburg, MS.  It's been a long and wet winter.....

Come join us for the first annual Southern Valkyrie Madness Ride.

Dates: April 17-19, 2020
Ground Zero is:
Red Lion Inn
4301 Hardy St. Hattiesburg, MS 39402
(601) 264-8080
Quoted Discounted Price is $62.00 plus tax.

If you prefer, there are other (numerous) hotels within a block or so.  Several options for food within walking distance and fuel just around the corner.

Please call the hotel directly for reservations.  They are holding a block of rooms until
16 April, 2020.  Be sure you tell the clerk you are with the Southern Valkyrie Madness Ride.
Some reservations have already been made but we currently have at least 10 more rooms blocked and more are available currently, if needed.
I would advise those wanting a ground floor room to ask for one when reserving your room.

Planned Activities include:
Ride in Friday, 17 April with a BBQ @ 6:30 PM.  There will be a small charge for this meal, we're trying to do this as reasonably as possible.   Will announce the cost once we figure out what it's going to cost us.   Won't know that till we have an idea of how many folks are attending but, we're trying to keep it under $10.00 per person.

April 18 (Saturday): There will be up to three Ride Captains to lead groups available (if needed).   We fully realize we're only about an hour and a half from the coastal beach so, some of our northern friends may want to spend a day at the beach.   It's your choice.  This part of Mississippi has some pretty good roads and the Ride Captains know the good ones.  I would not be one of those Ride Captains.

Ride Captains will outline each ride during the Friday BBQ so riders can chose what they want.
Kick Stands Up @ 9:00 AM in the Red Lion parking lot.
The evening meal (dinner) will be at your discretion, there are several great places to eat in and around Hattiesburg.

Ride Captains are Punisher, Mac and Warlock with other local riders prepared to step up if the numbers justify it or, there are "special" destinations desired that are not on the Ride Captains route.

April 19 (Sunday):  Breakfast and departure.

Edited: Tee Shirts can be pre-ordered through Stephanie if so desired.
Call Stephanie at 931-622-0051
The Tee Shirt logo has been determined, soon as I find someone that can and will post a pic, it will be presented.

Pricing:
Short Sleeve
$15 Short Sleeve Pocket Tee $20
Long Sleeve Tee $20
Long Sleeve Pocket Tee $25
Colors available: White, Safety Green, Safety Orange, and Sport Grey  all will have Black design
Black and Navy will have White design.
Interested riders can contact me by phone (prefer text) or by email. Will collect for tee shirts at ride.

Willow has offered to help us out with a signup page so, please be on the lookout for it.   We really need to know how many folks will attend so we have sufficient meals prepared.

I would appreciate folks who have made reservations indicate as such so as to try and get an accurate count.

Edited: Some folks were having problems getting reservations using the ride name and getting the quoted discount.  I have revisited the Manager and am told that apparently not all of their folks knew.  I believe that has been resolved.

While there I noted the following restaurants with in easy walking distance.

Outback Steak House
Hooters
Plaid Rhino
Wendy’s
Westover Wine & Liquor

With several other options a short ride away.

Rams and the Hattiesburg Gang.

Ron,

Well dang! I seem to have picked up another nasty habit... as if I really needed any more! Yep, I made yet another one of those reservation thingies, so... I reckon it now appears even more likely than before that I'll be showing up. Naturally, the event is still some considerable amount of time off in the distant future, so... you know...

To be absolutely clear here, what I'm about to ask will not determine my attendance, nor is it intended in any subtle way to even attempt to force anything unplanned nor to otherwise influence decisions on things not already figured on, but... I just gotta say that the thought of BBQ is on my mind... so, is that palate-pleasing possibility still being kicked around? If my input might make a difference... please feel free to speculate and/or ruminate about my thoughts on the matter! I'll be looking forward to seeing you and all our friends gathered around the pig parts... or whatever!!!

Won't hurt my feelings.  But, you should probably ask Stephanie about that.  Wanted to make the eyes glow but, that would have been cost prohibitive.

cooldude  Sounds like a great plan, Philadelphia, MS is only a couple of hours away.   I always try to use my travels to stop by and visit with long lost friends.   Just be sure to depart early enough to make that BBQ on Friday.   Heck Yeah, if he's interested, bring him along.    Please let us know in advance though, would hate to not have enough BBQ.  Looking forward to the visit.

If I have the count correct, there are folks coming from 11 different states.    A great start for what we hope will become an annual event.    smitten

What is the count?

If you are referring to headcount, I have to go by the poll at the top of the page(s).   I do believe there will be more but, won't know for sure (even those who are planning on coming) until they roll into the parking lot.   Hoping to get that signup page soon but, we still have time.
