Although our company has not closed they gave us the option to work from home. I'm able to remote in to my desktop puter from work and get all the files I need. We are a General Contractor and so far have not been ordered to shut the doors. Keeping our fingers crossed.

I usually work from home, but now I do all of the time. Our office is closed except for a computer support person since everything is now virtual, and someone checks and scans mail a few times a week.

We are a commercial manufacturer, and have limited contact with the public. We are curently operating full time, albeit with strict access and contact protocols for staff, vendors, and service providers. My sales reps are working from home. I typically work from my home office 2-3 days per week, and do a lot of travelling. Obviously all travel is curtailed now, so I am basically working from home full time.

Just got an email from corporate.... We have been classified by Home Land Security as an essential business and will have to continue to work even if SC goes into mandatory lock down.... So no time off for the Kaboom team. I was on a conference call with the regional President and asked how I would prove to any small town popo that I had to be out on the road working.... Was told we will have a letter from Home Land Security to show.... I have a feeling if that happens I'll be seeing a lot of early morning Blue Lights.

We're waiting for those remote controlled extra heavy tractors so Joe can drive from home. I'm good with that as long as I still get time and a half anything over 40 and double time on Saturday. Working all the time sucks but I bought my wife a nice low mile Subaru Outback and didn't owe a dime when we drove off the lot. Just got a beautiful low mile Goldwing and don't owe a dime on it. I need right at two years and a few months to call it quits . Hoping this Chinese Kungflu don't take me out would love to have some Joe time before I die.

As I've mentioned before, working from home has been my norm for about the last decade. The spousal unit's new job had her working from home 3 days a week, in to the office 2 days but she's now 100% work from home. The 8 year old triplets and the 17 year old Vanna are all in virtual classrooms now. This started with spring break week for us, we're now on week 3 of the kids being home all day every day, and the wife always here. I never really appreciated my alone time during the work day when I had the whole house to myself. They don't stop making noise. Ever. There's always at least one singing, talking, making these weird clicking noises, meowing at the dog, barking at the cat. They just don't stop..... Might be time to break out the little straight jackets.

Hey Serk, you probably have a pair or two of these. Just make sure they're not the electronic ones that amplify normal noise. Just the old fashioned ones. My house is just as quiet as it always is. No he needs a set that do electronic noise canceling

well got word today WI is doing what IL and CA and others are doing after tomorrow being stay at home period. Get this, since our company is technically 'indirectly' related to the construction industry, our VP of HR sent out company wide email today that says our plants in those states are ESSENTIAL to the construction industry therefore NOT shutting down. I work in the office but the plant is 50 yards away workers in there daily still. I feel most office workers are not essential right to making the product for construction and buildings, correct, so stay home, right? HR says they are looking out for our best interest for safety/health, but in reality they only care about the bottom line for if a select few do stay home knowing not as productive, cash flow is a HUGE issue at month end time. Should get real interesting come this Friday when we were all told from the start BEFORE the Governor declared stay at home for ALL NOT essential that we would all be returning to work as of 1 week ago on April 1st, we shall see soon if that changes. I told the boss today in my 1 on 1 zoom mthly mtg. that I am staying home come next MOnday AFTER month end just like the rest of her staff/dept. is besides us 3 in my mini-dept. (2 others MUST be in for NO internet at home) and be not as productive as just like the rest of her staff who are apparently are NON essential and me apparently more essential?? She keeps saying past 1 year 'hang in there, it will get better'. Ya right is all talk no action. I have tomorrow off month end on Friday and all have to be home for something but not doing 50% of my daily job duties at home either when unable to do much over that if at home. Boss told me to come in would 'appreciate' it not working from home knowing not as productive at home and knowing the 2 other ladies I work closely with do NOT have internet access at home so 100% of their (our) jobs would not get done and ONLY 1 person cannot get it all done daily ever needing 2 people for sure. Is nice having dozens of daily job duties needed done daily but does not leave any room for slacking nor much room for taking off vacation days either, but the time surely flies daily while in the office 8 hours feels like 3-4 hours each and every day, which is what I like. We shall see come yearly review time suppose to be in April but last year HR made excuses and pushed all reviews into June to save money dragging their feet. Wanna bet HR and mgmt. blames this virus and NO ONE gets raises? I lived thru that once in the 1990's working 3 years with a pay freeze with 1/2 our office quiting finding other jobs, not doing that again ever. My wife got word today to STAY HOME starting tomorrow due to the Governor of WI saying so just like nearby IL state. Yet our company is very 'wishy washy' on who gets to stay home and who does not as being 'essential'.

I’m working from home as of today. It’s been a chore getting a room ready to be a home office. This is the room in which all my FIL’s excess stuff was being stored until it could be sorted and filtered. Much of that happened on the weekend, then I’ve had to run ethernet to the room. What a pain. More arranging to do, but I should be back fully on project work tomorrow.

Well, everything here in Switzerland has slowed down - our factory still up and running - me in office / home in intervals - see what happens next... ??? Country is not locked down yet, but people are advised to stay home, unless they need food, medecine, or other necessary things - gatherings of more than 5 (five...) people are banned... Dam glad I retired 10 years ago. I was the IT guy for our local office. I would have to be going in to make sure all was well and would be totally by myself in the big empty place. DW and I are doing our part in keeping away from folks, except for trips every so often to the food store and Home Depot. The later has lots of empty spaces and not many folks there. DW has gotten into making over mask for the health care folks. These mask, made of normal cloth, are worn over their '95 mask to make them last longer. Cool. You folks out there who are still working, try to not get the Virus.

We're getting busier every day. Planes are full, packed to the gills. No empty cans being moved around the country. No layoffs here.
I feel for so many of my pax airline friends. Huge numbers of aircraft are getting parked.
Logan Airport has become a ghost town, reminiscent of immediate post-911.
Like others have mentioned, we're instructed to carry notification that will allow any necessary travel.

Friendly reminder to those new to working from home: You still need to bathe, put on deodorant, change clothes and other such things on a regular basis.....
Just a pro tip I thought I'd pass along. Keep needing to remind my new 8 year old office mates of this fact on a daily basis.....

Well if you need food delivered these girls will do it for you, Pretty funny. Girls would not qualify for unemployment and so they need to work. I admire their willingness to work at delivering food and I doubt there is anything other than that since the idea of getting the virus would stop anyone from any closer contact. get this one got letter from hr dept. that our company is essential and if coming in needed to work in the office we had to sign a letter than am healthy and no known symptoms and no fever, etc. and have our acct. mgr. sign it today. 2nd letter stated still our company is ESSENTIAL which it is NOT according to WI stay at home guidelines. If our company is so essential why soon after 6 a.m. did they send all in the plant HOME for the day? Heaven forbid HR and the mgrs. there be smart enough to not piss everyone off that came in this morning expecting to work to soon be let go home soon after driving into work some am sure near 1 hour drive. I guess not so essential aye?????? am curious if the plant workers were told they needed to take vacation or will be on layoff and how long since I asked my acct. mgr. today big chief in charge and he had no clue taking it day by day. I wandered the halls and offices in 3 areas and NO ONE at all in besides my dept. having 5 in the office in entire big building. I think we NOT essential but someone must? If we so ESSENTIAL then why not all of us in? Make one wonder doesn't it who actually works and who is not needed with most staying home? Boss did call me from home asking me how things going and I said fine but backlogged as expected and super busy and said hang in there while she sitting at home doing what???? She had no right and has no confidentiality at all telling me that a few of her workers in her dept. working from home supposedly are in big trouble when get back eventually she said the IT dept. monitoring whether online or offline caught a few in her dept offline several hours during the day and we all were told 1 day prior as such monitoring will be done and do NOT goof off at home. I guess some did not listen? It makes her look really really bad being their boss (and mine) if some are goofing off at home not online working as suppose to be. I only babysat my slower older co-worker 45 minutes today her needing help with the basics like file/save as, etc..... she makes me look like a genius....

Well I'm done for the school year.
I'll be going to sign up for unemployment on Monday.
That means going among the humans race that I've managed to keep away from for nearly 2 weeks so far.
Have you tried doing it online? https://dol.georgia.gov/regular-unemployment-insurance-ui

I’m working at home. And this week doing something really cool. A couple years ago the AirForce asked me to make some foot measuring devices. I guess they liked them because they just ordered four more and I just finished them an hour ago. Ship tomorrow. They even let me create the National Stock Number for these things. They are used by the new F-35 program to size the pilots feet in millimeters so they get the right size suit.
